Seems like red curry would be a much better choice with all that accuracy

Yeah, I just chose it for the DEX. Also, it's cheap as hell and Dex builds generally aren't shit off birds unless you're a Mithra.
You have way too much dex for birds. You only need 117 dex to cap crit rate on birds. Even elvaans would have 128 dex with that build.
Yeah, I know. I was just throwing it together as a RC Crit build for general-purpose use. That's actually one that I made for some Mithra with 5 Dex merits who wanted to do Mamool with it. It's hard to choose between something that *may* cap your crit rate on pretty much every thing and something that *will* increase your base weapon damage on everything. Typically people associate RC builds with Dex builds, so that's why I threw that out there as an extreme. I kind of favor STR builds.
Like, an alternative would be:
RC/Pole/___/Bomblet
Askar/Ancient/Assault/Brutal
Armadaberk/Dusk+1/Blitz/Rajas
Cuchulain's/Velocious/Hachiryu/Aurums
Eat Pizza, have a lot of STR.
Or you could use the above build, substitute Thunder for Triumph, Cuchu for Cerb +1, and call it a day. It's pretty likely we're about to leave birds behind, but that doesn't mean capping dDEX will be impossible on new mobs.
You'd probably just have to check the website of LSs on your server and see if they do Mercs, then ask around about their reputation. I know several Merc shells on Ramuh, but that wouldn't help you on Sylph ^^; You can minimize chance of getting screwed by agreeing to terms in party chat with people from the Merc LS, if they screw you over, a GM can then do something about it. Might be hard with ra/ex items, but I know for things like crafting GMs can take items from the crafter and give to the craftee.
Agreed, its pretty easy.
There are lots of ways to mess up that Ix'MNK pull as a first timer. I've seen some people try to flee because they think they are going to get horded, and end up deaggroing Ix'MNK. If you're on the East side and go past the door while MNK is still beyond it, you can get locked out. Lots of other fluke cases can happen too. Ice Ghrah Binds for instance.
I don't think it does the guy that asked the question any good to act extra jaded towards the solo just because some of us have done it to death. Pulling is the hardest part of the solo and things can go wrong if you don't have some experience. I'm not saying you have to write a thesis on how to pull Ix'MNK, but for a first timer there are certainly ways to screw up he should know about.
EDIT:
Dont use Flee
Movement Speed +12% recommended
Use a damage reduction set if you don't already
If not extremely comfortable, recommend clearing Ice/Dark Ghrahs before pull
Don't stray too far from Ix or it can deaggro (usually not an issue unless you flee)
If on East side, make sure you have Ix before going through the 1-way door
If popping with Qn helpers, they must be separated from Ix or they will simply relink when you pull Ix after you sac. If you are solo, you need to die quickly. If you are in a group, then it's easier as you just take the 'sac' to the portal while someone pulls ix off to separate from the Qn.
I finally decided to put money into my lolSAM. The only problem is, the only thing I know is mage jobs.
1) What're some (cheaper) sets for TP?
2) What're some (cheaper) sets for YGK?
Take in mind I already have Byakko's Haidate, Rajas and Ulthalam's.
For ranged weaponskills, does ammo affect weapon rank or will max damage be only based on the weapon?
ie, does Archery have more potential than Crossbow that has more potential than Guns based on the order of their best weapon's base damage or given that with ammo they all have roughly the same damage and therefore about the same weapon rank?
Has anybody else been having issues with the Pulling the Plug ENM lately? Last few times its been really annoying with empty seed spam and draw-in and I can barely get an action off in time. Thanks
Obviously you'll want to get a 6-hit, which can be done cheap and a lacking outcome, or cheap with a lot of time put into it, ending up nearly on par with much better geared players(IE:Usukane).
Cheap 6-hit, not optimal, improvements in bold
Hagun/PoleGrip/-/TiphiaStingBlackTathlum
WalahraTurban/PeacockCharmAncientTorque/Brutal/(Bushi, accuracy or attack earring)
Haubergeon+1/HachimanKote/Rajas/Ulthalam'sSniper+1
ForagersMantleCuchulain/SwiftBeltVelocious/Byakko's/FumaSune-AteDusk+1
For a much better build, replace Pole Grip with Rose Strap, Ulthalam's with Ecphoria Ring, and Hachiman Kote with Dusk gloves. Obviously Rose Strap is the hinderance here, requiring a lot of campaign time.
as an elvaan rdm, which is better to pick up first from einherjar, morgana's choker or omega ring? at the moment, only have enough points for one.
already have snow and aqua x2, so omega is for macc build. choker would be nice to idle in, and would get me about 20 mp away from a 1:1 ratio for convert, but i already have a promise badge for potency and enf. torque for skill.
thanks!
Well, as I've been leveling/gearing my White Mage, I've been doing it the way I think it's supposed to be, using wiki and BG for some advice/tips.
Now some players in the game are often telling me I should have over 1000 MP by now, even as an Elvaan. I really doubt that, and don't think it's practical since 1000 max MP is useless once you use it.
I'm Level 72 by the way.
My question however is, should I be using more MP+ gear if I have only about 820 in resting gear, 710 in idle, 700 in enfeebling, and 690~ in curing?
I thought for a while and realized that maybe I should have an alternate curing set with higher MP to use at certain events, just so I can last longer.... I'm really not sure. Can someone help me out?
How do Corsair works in Salvage ? Which role ? Which subjob ?
Which job is better as a puller ? Brd or Mnk ? I've always seen Brds do awesome, but I've been told lately that Mnk was doing better because they can mass link every room and counterstance shit forever... which I find shady.
