You need more int than what the auto currently has when you use the maneuver. 71 int will get you less burden on the first maneuver, but not on the second or third. So you want to have 78 int to get less burden on ice #1 and #2, and then it doesn't matter if you would have overloaded on #3. Also, who cares what gear slots are taken for what, just swap in your int/mnd gear on maneuvers. Legs and body are all it takes for non-elvaans. You want to be blinking anyways so you can use maneuvers while running.
What's a good set up and strats to lowman ks99 Wyrm?![]()
Looking over Magians weapons again since my last question I'm trying to look where to upgrade on my and my fiancee's jobs with these weapons. Got the answers to a few of my questions off the last page, so I'm fairly confident with some of what I have listed. I know with the update right around the corner this could potentially change, but I'm curious to know if my assumptions on what we should upgrade are correct. Several jobs so I'll just spoiler it below. All OAT weapons are DMG/Delay+ ones.
Spoiler: show
Also are the straight DMG+ Magians weapons worth looking into at all?
THF: X's/Magians OAT, or thiefs knife
DNC: Magians's DEX+4,ACC+8/Same offhand as above, Sure
SAM: Tomoe/Hagun(Magians OAT pulls ahead slightly I know)Soboro is better than both
DRK: Magians OAT Sure.
WAR: Rune Chopper Sure.
NIN: ???/??? Perdu/OAT
MNK: Destroyers/Faith ? Sure.
BLU: ???/??? lolblu
PLD: Joy sure
RNG: OAT weapons? OAT gun is pretty hax
Didn't dagger OAT get mathed out to pretty much suck on thf and gain tp less than 1% faster than sirocco kukri? Mainly due to OAT canceling out triple attack I think. Also Soboro is not better than kurodachi. Acc/dex sword beats perdu unless capped acc.
kurodachi > soboro > hagun by similar intervals, if it's not worth the extra tp feed to use soboro over hagun it's also probably not worth the extra tp feed to use kurodachi over hagun
i'm with hagun~
OAT dagger is dependant on what you're pairing it with, what stp gear you're using, how aggressively you play, and monster defense. It's certainly not a weak option, and on any higher end mobs x's/athame will typically beat out x's/sirocco x's/blau and blau/sirocco.
I sold my Hagun after playing with my Kurodachi for roughly 2 hours. Honestly, it isn't a massive increase, and in some situations it's obviously not optimal, but for my playstyle it's perfect. You really have to pay attention and be aggressive to not waste TP, it's nice to always be on my toes in simple things like Limbus/Einherjar, where I would've been really bored before.
If nothing else I recommend it purely for the entertainment factor!
I just had a few questions about RNG. Its my latest 75. Since I dinged, I havent really got a chance to play it all that much and I dont know how much I will really use it. So subsequently I dont really have much experience with it to know whats good and whats not for it, other than just gut instincts.
I have scripts for normal TP, TP with more acc, TP with -enm, strength ws, ws with mixmatch of str/acc in it.
Current Gear. (at work so cant post pics, and going off the top of my head)
Main: Vulcan's Staff + Axe Grip
Ranged: Ebow
Head: AF1 Head, Optical Hat, Wyvern Helm
Neck: Peacock Charm, Breeze Gorget
Ears: Triumph Earring, Cassie Earring, Novia
Body: ACP Body (Snapshot + RACC), Osode
Hands: Crimson Finger Gauntlets, Seiryus Kote
Rings: Rajas, Flame, Behemoth Ring+1 x2
Back: Anemet Mantle +1
Waist: Scouts, Buccaneers
Legs: AF2 Legs, Skadi Chausses, Hachiryu Haidate
Feet: AF2 Feet, Skadi Jambeaux
For my normal TP (assuming that RACC isnt a major issue) I got something along the lines of:
Main: Vulcan's Staff + Axe Grip
Ranged: Ebow
Head: AF1 Head
Neck: Peacock Charm
Ears: Triumph Earring, Cassie Earring
Body: ACP Body (Snapshot + RACC)
Hands: Crimson Finger Gauntlets
Rings: Rajas, Behemoth Ring+1
Back: Anemet Mantle +1
Waist: Scouts
Legs: Skadi Chausses
Feet: Skadi Jambeaux
For STR based SW I got something along the lines of:
Main: Vulcan's Staff + Axe Grip
Ranged: Ebow
Head: Wyvern Helm
Neck: Breeze Gorget
Ears: Triumph Earring, Cassie Earring
Body: Kirin's Osode
Hands: Seiryu's Kote
Rings: Rajas, Flame Ring
Back: Anemet Mantle +1
Waist: Buccaneer's
Legs: Hachiryu Haidate
Feet: Skadi Jambeaux
So I guess my question is, based off the gear what improvements could be made with my current TP and WS item sets?. You can include buyable (not overly expensive) things such as another Triumph Earring + Qiqirn Collar (for example).
What future Improvements could be made with my TP and WS item sets? (For example Quadav SCNM helm for TP and Hachiryu Feet for WS).
Guess my last question is, do alot of RNG get the moogle add-on hat for RNG WS? If so, what +stats do you recommend?
Lets assume that I am fighting something along the lines of Odin or Lord Ruthven or Yilbegan. Assuming a COR in the party. I have 0 archery merits and dont plan on getting any. Just looking for some advice incase I do use RNG on something, so I have a better idea.
Like I mentioned above I dont play RNG much. Not really looking to dump a whole lot of gil into what I already have unless I start playing it more. I guess another note, I just use Triumph and Cassie because I have Cassie for DRK and so it saves me inventory space over getting another Triumph which I wouldnt use 2 of them on any of my other jobs. Plus gives RNG a bit more extra survivability because the job has a low hp base and hate control can be problematic on the job.
Any advice? Thanks
Is there ANY way to make it so the game prioritizes the sounds of ME fighting over the thousand blue mages in Cape Teriggan? It's pretty annoying that I can hit something and there's no sound, but I can hear the blue mage casting 9000 spells on himself half a mile away.
I wouldn't even mind the others' sounds if they didn't fuck me up, it's like the game literally silences me and whatever I'm fighting just so I can hear the fucking annoying casting sounds around me...
Yeah, some people actually enjoy the game, new concept.
Obviously anyone who plays without sound doesn't enjoy the game.
I turn off music usually, but it annoys me when I can't at least hear sound effects.
My setup is sound.
HNM TP
Vulcan/Axe/Vali/Arrows
Turtle/Hope/Novia/Delta
Ebon/Blood/Rajas/Behemoth+1
Anemet+1/Buccaneer/Skadi/Scouts
High ACC WS
Vulcan/Rose(might be a waste) Vali/Arrows
Turtle/Breeze/Wilhelm set
Osode/Seiryu/Raja/Behemoth+1
Anemet+1/Buccaneer/Hachiryu/Hachiryu
High Damage WS
Vulcan/Rose(might be a waste) Vali/Arrows
Wyvern+1/Breeze/Triumph/Triumph
Osode/Skadi/Raja/Triumph
Anemet+1/Buccaneer/Hachiryu/Hachiryu
Gonna add Moogle helm WS ACC+15 2%damage STR4 AGI4
I also wanna try a Failnought with the -emn,+acc and an easier to achieve 5 hit.
I did some rough (read: rough) math on OAT Dagger yesterday and couldn't see how any nonrelic dagger combination could beat Blau/Athame (or whichever way it goes around) in a situation where melee DoT is worthwhile and a Dakini's acc won't push you into Rapparee Harness etc. Did I do something horribly wrong? I ended up getting the figure that based on "average attack frequency per round" ONLY compared with a normal dagger, it was a 24% increase to DoT and around that figure increase to weaponskill damage.
