    If My Dog Didn't Have Cancer . . .

    . . . I'd probably kill her myself.

    Seriously.

Dog keeps taking a shit in the same spot... I feel it is just to spite me.

I cleaned it up once this morning at like 8 AM. I just walked by it again and the turd is there again. This happens about 4 times a day, no matter how many times I walk her or take her outside. And I make sure she takes a shit when she's out there (well unless I have friends over but that's besides the point)

WHY DOES SHE DO THIS TO ME!?

I have a handicap dog, with cancer. Its the equivalent of raising a child anymore. But if the dog still has life, and isn't in pain. Just gotta rough it out.

    Also try doggie diapers.

Also if the dog is defecating pellets randomly throughout the day, that could easily be a sign of a bowl issue. Our dog used to do that while we were gone during the day, until we found out her gut had stopped producing healthy bacteria. Now she takes a supplement with her food. Also, do you take the dog out after she eats? (Bowl movements are more likely in one go after a dog fills itself stomach with some weight).

    No she's not in pain.

And I've tried doggie diapers. She actually knows how to dismantle them unless you put one of those velcro things over it that they make to ensure the diaper stays on.

In that case she just cries until you fix it.

She knows how to grind my gears anymore.

Edit: Not pellets. And yes, I do after she eats. Skirk will vouch for me... I'm forced to take the dog to the bathroom roughly 8 times a day. It's ridiculous... I'm starting to believe because of the frequency my mom makes me take her out is training her to have to go all the time.

These are the ones we use.

    http://www.diapersfordogs.com/femaledog.htm

I used to use the largest Huggies available, and modifying them so that the tail could stick out. Along with using baby pins to hold the diapers together on both legs (They would slide off during the day while we were gone). But have since changed that regime to a more stronger velcro-base & permanent solution.

Our dog is handicap from the waist down, so as is even if she wanted to get the diapers off. It would be hard as hell for her. (She's an APBT if you're wondering).

An indoor dog based on their bathroom habits/schedules during the day will go almost random if taken out like you mentioned. If the dog is constantly taken out (minus any health problems that could be an issue). The dog will expect always during the day for someone to take it out. So yes, you are right that it could be from that. Even though our dog is old, handicap, has cancer. She eats once in the morning and once at night (She only goes out morning and night if you're wondering). And yes, for the record even though shes old, she gets disciplined just like any dog. Don't let discipline conflict with sympathy, if the dog is not in pain as you mentioned.

Also forgot to add, does the does urinate/make a lot of mistakes? What is the dogs water consumption during the day? Do you just let her drink freely?

2 bowls of water, drinks freely. Doesn't urinate or make many mistakes. The dog is definitely competent... she's always been a prankster but never this bad.

Stupid question, but since you say it's the same spot it may not be a physical thing, more of a territory thing, so...how well are you cleaning the spot that she's pooped on? Both cats and dogs are notorious for pooping/peeing in the same spot if they can smell they've done it before. There are cleaners that you can get from petco that should get rid of the smell (even if you can't smell it, they still can).

It may not be that, but I know with every cat/dog I've had, I've gone through this issue and really had to scrub/clean the shit out of the spot so they'd stop doing it.

It could be a possibility, but it sounds to me of more as a small accident occurring out of habit. You could try an oxy-enzyme based cleaner though to see if it changes the issue. If it doesn't then you'll know for sure.

ya I agree, but it doesn't hurt to try since it seems tsu is at a lost on the situation.

@ Skirk it can still happen on hardwood floors.
