Ok, I think I got my groove back with Tao. Her new j.5B is fucking awesome for starting drive my old drive combos into (which so far seem unaffected by any adjustments). Got some easy 2k strings going, trying to see what else I can use to start something from a BnB.
Also a bit peeved that her 6C also doesn't do wallbounce anymore unless your opponent is actually against the edge of the stage.
[EDIT] Fuck me, should have did more of Tao's challenges first. Didn't realize Cat Spirit One can link after a 3C. That actually.....makes some of my combos easier to pull off online now rather than trying to time a hitstop on her drive following 3C. Bit curious now if that was even possible to do prepatch. Well, I guess I could check by changing the version back. ;/
And dear lord I want to master her #08 & #10 challenge. That looks fucking annoying to be on the other end of. Trollface material.

Tao is a fucking beast now if you can pull those reliably.
ugh I might just pick up a copy for PS3 to hold over til I replace my 360 now, I really want to play agaian now :/
I find it's a case of a lot of people not really knowing how to play that well against him. My Tao tears most Tager's apart. >.>
Shit, I need to check if Tao's tiny hitbox when crawling is still in......., so many players have no idea how much shit she's capable of dodging with that.
And whooo, 50% of challenges done as of the latest update. Just need 10'ish more for the stupid 100 challenges trophy and I'm good for obtaining my Platinum.
Spoiler: show
Nice change of them to remove Ragna's Inferno Divider/Belial Edge voice clips. Those got fucking annoying since they've very commonly used attacks.
Tager wrecks me because of that ridiculous backstep, I always end up playing footsies until I get impatient, do a Hell's Fang that gets backstepped, then command-thrown for half my health![]()
Yeesh, you'd figure after all this time of not being able to back out of Ranked Matches, that they'd at least give you the option to temporarily block a player so you don't get rematched with him 3x in a row after cancelling out each time.
Kinda hoping this isn't the end of the line for CS patches. I still want a little more refinement on the online system, and perhaps allowing us to use our bloody DLC characters in Arcade mode.
haven't put an awful lot of time into this since the patch, haven't really re-learned hakumen yet but i know there's a bunch of things that don't work anymore. still, the addition of a comboable 4C seems pretty badass.
this is the reason for roughly 100% of my losses vs tager D:
I've been getting my ass kicked as Rachel. I still haven't gotten into the habit of following up after I hit confirm 100% of the time.It also doesn't help that everyone on XBL is level 50+. Oh well, gotta lose to win.
I also really hate how ranked matches automatically pair you up with someone instead of you getting to pick someone like in SSF4.
If I've learned anything in my time as Ragna, it's that hitconfirming is for suckers, close your eyes and let it rip!
Spoiler: show
Have you gotten to mess with her 2C much yet? It seems fucking awesome now, like it has a longer hit-guard than before and takes a primer if it gets blocked. My birthday's July 7th, should get a new 360 that weekend at the latest if you'll still be looking for a sparring partner, right now playing cracks of GGXX/#R and BB:CT on my PC for some form of practice lol![]()
Apparently, a friend of mine did script editing and voice directing for the US version of BB:CS II for the PSP and 3DS (dunno if that overlaps for the PS3 & 360 updates), so if you play through those and have any opinion on the quality, I'll pass it on.
I actually never played Rachel in CT or CS1, so I don't really have a basis of comparison in terms of it being buffed. It is awesome, especially if you have meter and 1 wind. The thing that sucks is 2C is one of Rachel's only options against pressure other than using wind to run away. I really miss having a DP.I'll def be up for some games when you get another 360. What happened to your old one?
RRoD after my 3rd-ever ranked match, I was on a tear too out the gate since there were a bunch of people trying to figure out Platinum![]()
Kinda kicking myself for purchasing Platinum after realizing her "anime-ness" goes far beyond just the design/voice choice. Ugh.
At least I finally got my stupid 100-Challenges trophy with her. Just need to finish the rest of her character-specific trophies and shut her up for good.
[EDIT] Figures my SF4 SE stick decides to....somewhat bug itself. The turbo lights are always on now. ;/
I'm kind of surprised so many ppl are playing Platinum. I understand why she might be popular in JP, but I wasn't expecting to see so many ppl using her on XBL.
Hey guys, I picked up Continuum Shift 2 for the 3DS this week and am having quite a bit of fun with it. I've had my eye on the console version for a long time but never bothered to pick it up. Are there any significant changes between the two that I should be aware of? Is there any particular reason to go with one console over another?
The console versions have been patched to be the same as the CS2 you're playing assuming you download the version 1.03 update. As far as PS3 vs. 360, their identical, though you should probably go with 360 because I'm going to be raring to fight anyone and everyone when I get my new one in a couple of weeks :3
fwiw gamestop has the best deal on BB:CS I've seen, $20 new/$18 used last I saw
The games should be identical in terms of content like Calli said. The only difference would be if you play online. I'm pretty sure the netcode is the same on both systems, but I'm not 100% sure since I don't own a PS3. So, it would come down to if you'd rather play on PSN or XBL.
Abyss mode was added to the console version?
I think the only other difference is you don't need to buy/challenge unlock the DLC characters in the handheld versions, if it's like the PSP BB:CT. Though you did have to accrue points to unlock unlimited versions of characters, and unlock Astral Heat for most characters.
