The only way to get Makoto Val and Platinum is by buying. Mu is the only character you can unlock through story mode.

You can actually retry in score attack, if you don't mind "cheating". If you press start on the other controller during a match, you'll get a "HERE COMES A NEW CHALLENGER" message and start a vs battle. As long as the person who was doing the score attack wins, you'll start the score attack match over. That's how I unlocked Unlimited Jin. I'm usually not one for abusing game mechanics, but I don't like spending money purchasing something that can be unlocked by normal means. Unlimited characters are fun to mess around with in practice or play against other unlimited characters with, but it's probably not worth the time and/or money.
I attempted this as well, then fought Hakumen for 6 hours straight, then one round I didn't pay close attention and the battery on my P2 controller had died so I couldn't hit start in time, that pretty much ended it for me. I still pop onto Score Attack often just because it's good practice, but I'm definitely done making serious attempts to beat it, lol.
Hakumen is just a major cockblock because he mind reads like a motherfucker with his D-counter, and has a buttload of HP.
Hazama was a pain as well mainly due to his drain-aura, but he doesn't blatantly cheat. Unlimited Rachel/Ragna are laughable in comparison.
I ended up beating Score Attack with Tager, then bought the DLC for all characters because fuck doing that for all of them. Should have just been beat-arcade-on-hell or something more feasible.
Just watch for 50% heat and try to coax it out of him with some ranged attacks. The AI in general has problems dealing with them for some reason.
Ragna main = no such thing as a ranged attack lol![]()
It may come to Vita too

Blazblue Continuum Shift 2 being 'considered' for Vita launch
PSP version is great but you can't use the analog stick for movement, which sucks. We managed to endure Sony's deafening gathering in the LA Memorial Sports Arena just long enough to spot a PlayStation Vita version of Blazblue: Continuum Shift 2. An Aksys representative tells us it might end up with the subtitle of Continuum Shift 2 +.
The 2D fighter is likely to be a launch title for Sony's new handheld, though Aksys has yet to finalize a release date. Compared to the recently released 3DS and PSP games, the Vita version of Blazblue boasts sharp HD sprites and beautiful, vivid colors, thanks to the system's OLED screen.
Aside from some slowdown we encountered in a Ragna vs. Noel fight, it looks to be an excellent reproduction of the console versions (and will reflect their latest balancing updates). As an added bonus, the smaller screen obscures some of the jagged edges exhibited by the game's large sprites.
The Vita's flat, segmented d-pad played nicely with Blazblue's fast-paced combat, and an Aksys representative said that the development team is thinking of using the rear touchpad for something. Don't force it, guys!
Should finally be getting my new 360 in a couple of hours if my paycheck clears the bank, I'll be dying to fight anyone and everyone who wants a turn on 360, hit me up at CalliTehRDM.
I'm still up for some games Calli.
I'm home and online for a couple of hours if you want to get some in.
Just got my ass kicked by a guy and spent half the fight distracted by this weird symbol under his health bar...after the fight I realized it was the Beginner Mode shit, I have no clue why on earth they allow that into ranked online matches, the guy's like 15 levels higher than me too.
Haha, wow.
Sorry, I wasn't around yesterday. I was stuck at my parents' house for Fathers Day. I should be on tonight. If I see you on, I'll msg you.
Was playing a few random matches online, ended up matched against the #2 guy on the XBL leaderboards, I think he was #1 yesterday lol...goes without saying that I got absolutely handled.
GGs Cali. Like I was saying on XBL, sorry I was really rusty with BB cos I've been playing a lot of SSF4 and AE lately. I didn't even realize until like halfway through our set that I was using the wrong buttons to throw haha. If you ever want to play some more matches, lemme know.
yeah I'll be on most the week at night, I just ordered the sanwa parts for the upgrades I'm doing to the madcatz SE stick, so you can beat my face in while I'm trying to learn stick lol
If Xerl or anyone is bored/interested here's some of our rounds from last night:
not really sure what happened with the sound lol, think something rendered wrong in vegas but I was doing it late at night with speakers down so didn't notice
edit: not expecting it to be watched really but the no sound was bothering me lol, reuploaded
Finally finished piecing together the madcatz stick upgrade:
The art's a bit sloppily done since I had all kinds of trouble applying it, but still pretty happy with the overall stick. If anyone wants to kick my head in while I'm learning to use it find me on XBL!
Nice stick! Hazama got owned by the buttons.
