And the portal ending is essentially exactly the same, except they reconcile the ending a bit further with the thing instead of just leaving it as an open question.

Though I agree I would have preferred it to be left alone and they just introduce a new character for 2

Kiarax did you actually do the advanced puzzles? Cause that shit is pretty rough, they may be on the same maps but they're pretty much all new puzzles with the changes they made.

Well my theory is that this person is constantly having their memory erased and sent through the tests anyway. 2 is different in that she was frozen and brought back a few hundred years later.

By the way I was totally right in that the whole "escape" part of the game was another portion of the test
