I posted, what I posted on a few ffxiv sites, I frequently post/read on, just to get what I was feeling off my massive chest. The reviews, magazines/sites are printing/posting things that just don't make sense to a certain degree and their bringing a game down that should not even be in the spot light to begin with. This is the only site that I probably should not have posted on, and I was hesitant about posting because I didn't see anyone discussing combat in a negative way. But I still posted it.

But, the way some of you respond back to a topic is ridiculous. Do you all act this way in person? Grow up. Only the words you post on the internet exist on screen. You, on the other side of the screen is just a figment of my imagination, unless you put a pic of yourself as your avatar. Have some respect for your fellow gamers. As we all love and enjoy the same thing. The other 5 sites I posted this on loved it and 1 might have it stickied. But, then again they where having the topics, related to my thought, posted on their forums. So I apologize for my rush in judgement.

Really did any of your parents raise you, with integrity and valor. Teach you the way one should behave in the world. To do unto others as you would want them to do unto you. Or were you a product of one those many parents that let the t.v. raise you, as they realized having kids was not something they really wanted. Or are all of you just products of evil spirits winning the fight over you mind and you don't really care at all about anyone else but yourself.

TL;DR

This site isn't for the stupid, childish, and god awful people who can't type correctly. If you can't properly organize your thoughts, use decent grammar, or utilize the search function in order to find the correct place to start a thread - then there are more then enough websites that will welcome you into their member base. Along side all their other terrific threads such as 'Favorite color', 'Be the last to post', 'Make a smile face', etc etc. I tremble to think of the day when this community stops self-policing it's self and allows some bullshit Allakazam type member base to get a foot hold here and bring their garbage version of 'discussion'.

You could have (and should have) used the random discussion/question/speculation thread that holds all of that kind of discussion if it really bothers you so much that people are getting onto you for not bothering to read or follow the rules.

Yea, this place can be kind of rough. Even comparatively to other gaming forums. I would think you would have some idea if you really frequent this place to any degree. BG will suffer no ill to its reputation. It has really always kind of been this way. Especially when it comes to posting new threads. Hell, I probably will suffer some level of persecution for even responding to this thread in any serious way, but I really don't care.

People are going to post stuff that's been said before.

Most of the "roughness" from this forum comes with a purpose. It's forum moderation in the hands of the people. People speak out against "useless" threads and copy threads and such in a harsh way to greatly reduce the number of "useless" threads that come around. This results in more threads worth reading instead of being like so many other forums where you can find multiple threads of the same topic on the same page. I read a higher % of BG threads than any other forum I frequent because of this. And far more threads get to higher page counts for this reason also. Just think of all the threads you find with 1-2 responses on BG compared to ones you find on another place like the WoW forums or Alla.

Edit: For some numbers I just looked at Alla's FFXI general page: 26 threads with less than 10 posts in this of the 50~ I have shown. I look at BG's FFXI "advanced" page, 4 threads on the first page with less than 10 posts. That difference right there is what makes BG the better forum for a bunch of people.
