    Dumb question, for those of you who call back to see if someone read your interview how long do you usually wait?

    I called up about my application this Monday with no response yet. So I'm starting to think the worst of the situation.

    Depends on the type of job but did they mention when they would be in contact with you after the interview process? I would call them the day after they said they would be in contact, if they haven't called you yet. Did you send them a thank you email/letter for interviewing you?

    Err, I didn't mean interview. Meant application, sorry.

    But yeah, I haven't heard anything since I applied and when I tried to talk to the guy in charge of hiring all I got was an answering machine. And haven't heard anything back yet.

    I usually call back within 2-3 days of putting my application in. Then unless they invite me to an interview ill call back again in 2 days just saying I want to check up on it. Then another 3 days after that. After about 2 weeks I give up.

    Okay thanks. Guess I'll bug him this Friday and if no dice Monday. I'm sick and tired of not having a job and can't find crap in the papers or online.

    Trick is to show them you are really interested in the job, but not annoy the fuck out of them TOO much. Usually by the 3rd or 4th call they will give you a definitive answer if you're getting hired or not, just so you dont call back.
