    PC Slowdown on Starcraft 2

For some reason my PC seems to lag quite a far bit on Starcraft 2 with Medium Settings. I'm pretty sure my PC should be able to handle much more, any ideas why it's acting so laggy?

    My specs are as follows:

    Intel(R) Core(TM)2 Quad CPU 8200 @ 2.33 GHz
    4GB Ram
    Nvidia GeForce 9500 GS

I'm running everything on the general medium setting which was labeled as suggested.

9500 GS is pretty bad nowadays... That's a tidbit better than a 8600 and I wouldn't even expect to run SC2 on my old 8600

You need a new gfx card, your other specs are fine. (As said in the post above.)

    Buy this:

Are the SC2 requirements even that high? I would think that card would be enough for medium settings. The game still is in beta after all, I'd maybe weight until Nvidia pushes new drivers for SC2 before investing in a new card.

If you have Vista, make sure you have SP1 or 2.

Make sure your card is adequately cooled(You can adjust the fan speed of the card with Nvidia control panel, or various other software that you can find free online), and that your PC is not in power saving mode or anything of the sort.

I don't see the fan speed option in my Nvidia Control Panel.

that program is super finicky, i have no idea how i even get it to come up with my fan speed monitor, it only does it about 10% of the time <_> rest of the time it only shows one useless menu.

You might wanna read around some to find what exactly it is that stops it from showing it, or else just get RivaTuner or something similar and try maxing the fan speed with those.

Can download evga precision, even if you don't have an evga brand card to fiddle with fan/memory settings. Also, I'm pretty sure the 8600 GTS is better than the 9500 GS.
