do you honestly believe that all natural reactions are not foolish?

actually, I just realized you might have meant something different than I originally thought. you're saying that the placebo effect is a "natural reaction" like getting goosebumps when it's cold is a natural reaction, and it doesn't make sense to call something like that foolish. given that premise, I would agree. but I disagree with the premise. I believe placebo effect is psychological and probably correlated with a vague psychological trait I'll call "suggestibility," which in turn is correlated with being a damn fool

Yes. And similarly as you wouldn't call someone foolish for having goosebumps, it seems equally silly to say someone is foolish for being affected by the placebo effect. Perhaps saying the placebo effect is foolish is more justified, but attacking the character of the person seems unjustifiable given that it's not a reasoned response in the first place.

In other words, they didn't decide to have a "placebo effect", so why should they be judged as foolish for it?

Emphasis on vague. But probably less vague than that fool category. It almost sounds like you're trying to make this sound scientific.

    Completely pointless.

You are really a terrible troll. You started with a flawed horribly pointless argument tried to save face. Several people called you out on it and now you are pretending that you won because you declare your superior intelligence over everyone else.

Never once did I put words in your mouth.

That is Leif level trolling right there. Not subtle enough.

At the same time with knowledge you can choose NOT to have it, and in a fit of intellectual irony being informed is actually a detriment in that sense.

If you have chronic depression, knowing that the drug your psychiatrist is prescribing is statistically LESS effective than placebo just means you're taking a useless pill, where if you were ignorant, you would of benefited.

Yeah you did. You said I said restless legs "doesn't exist" and then when I corrected you by pointing out that I never said that, you changed your braindead misinterpretation of my argument to "you're mad they gave it a name".

I really cannot be bothered trying to hold an actual argument with you, you are phenomenally stupid.

Quoting this again because you seem to have forgotten what you said. What you are saying here is that you are mad that it is only a "disease" (Remember drugs don't exist to only treat diseases) because some drug company needed to be able to classify it so they could get a drug approved.

This makes you retarded because drugs don't need a disease to attach to, to get approved, and you are mad because they gave it a name.

Wow despite how retarded you are I would expect that you could at least understand the words that you write. It is ok if you can't understand other peoples posts but I suggest making sure you understand what you are saying before writing it.

Quote it all you want, it doesn't change the fact that you're taking my words, drawing retarded conclusions, and then pretending those conclusions are in fact the words I said. Retard.

Post all you want it doesn't change the fact that you came into a thread you didn't need to read, trolled hard, made stupid baseless comments, and when you were called out on it couldn't put together a coherent argument or response beyond calling people stupid.

If you are so smart and your perception of what RLS is, is so right then please elaborate and explain what you mean. You realize you made 1 post in this thread (your second post) that wasn't calling someone retarded. That is it. That is the only post you made in this thread explaining what your opinion was.

I think from now on every week I'm going to post a new illness on these forums, and see how many people self-diagnose themselves as having it. I bet we'll see a pattern very quickly.
