I get mixed signals in regards to compatibility. Some people go "playing latest stuff on M33-6 / GEN-D", others "nothing released since X/X/20XX runs"

There's been some games with protection that was yet to be cracked. Birth by Sleep and God Eater were the only real notable ones for most people though. Birth by Sleep has only just been made playable recently and works on "all custom firmware", although some crazy outdated stuff might not work. People (myself included) expected Peace Walker to be the same, but that just worked on everything with minimal work. Dunno about God Eater though, haven't been keeping up with that since none of my friends are interested until English release.

You can play Tri on PC. Works very nicely actually.

However you won't have access to every monster because you won't have any online at all.

If you mean PSP emu, no. Will be a long time before anything substantial is playable.
