    I was just about to say this. Would be nice if the re-skinned behemoths were normal mobs and dropped hides normally.

    Well, at least they said they're reworking the exp system slightly for the level cap increase. Hopefully this means a new exp "cap" and an increase to how much exp VT etc. mobs give at 90+.

    I highly doubt SE would make exping less effective than ToAU. Then again, who knows, perhaps SE want us to get back to the old days where 4k/hr was good and 12k/hr was godly.

    I'm quite interested in how they will manage merits, spells and abilities, though. I will be a sad WHM if they release a Shellra VI.

    Hoping for something like Qutrubs in ToAU except they'd give tons more exp...

    But it'll prolly be nothing like we speculate. Just gotta wait.

    The big news, for me, on the new official site is under the "Product Details" button. The expansion is referred to as "Battle Area Add-On Part 1" - which makes me think this will be pretty light on storyline and mostly just some Dynamis-Salvage hybrid lowman event to keep us busy. Dunno how I feel about that.

    Like the plots were any good at all in the other 3, or the horrible ass-backwards questing we had to do to finish them. No thanks, much as I'd love more background info on Lilith's world I think the WotG missions will cover it just fine. In the mean time I'll happily take my 30-minute assault-style event for quick, fun battles that, if SE can be believed this time, reward you adequately.

    Now, I can MAYBE see a NM re-skinned Behemor dropping a hide with a pretty bad drop rate, maybe.

    Re-skinned armor = Magian Equipment, and is NOT afv3. It was hinted at Vanafest that the AFv3 Armors would look quite different. Besides, why would they show us AFv3 in those screenshots when they have yet to release any new pictures of it aside from PLD and BLM?

    Also, there was that rumor a while back that the game has a 0-255 limit due to coding, and we currently have 256 zones (counting 0 as a zone), however out of those 256, 6 are completely unused by players, so we could see a total of 6 "new" zones or 2 per add-on if this holds true.

    If the rumor is true, sounds like it. Which would be a bitch since we never got to see the far west, north, or southern parts of Vana'diel.

    If this is 256 limit thing is true. I hope SE makes something like the Fabula Nova Crystallis and Ivalice Alliance for Vana'diel.

    Byte limitation hasn't stopped SE in the past from adding new stuff to the PS2 edition. When there's a will, there's a swapspace on the harddrive.

    Didn't they say only part of Walk of Echoes would be made available this patch, too?

    I mean, it would make sense that AFv3 would be made available through Walk of Echoes, but it seems rather strange that AFv3 would be in the level 75 > 80 range. It would make more sense for it to be in the 90>99 range.

    Unless they plan for it to be upgraded in stages through Walk of Echoes to be better or something, I dunno. That's a possibility too I suppose.

    I'm seeing mobs drop currency in the past. Maybe you don't campaign in unions? Maybe you thought they meant level 56 saplings, which I'm sure I never thought.

    Uh, no.

    The only thing that would make me want these addons at this point is if they're genuinly fun somehow. If there's nothing new to explore and nothing but reskinned models to experience I really don't care.

    You'd have what's left of FFXI's population pissed off because no one wants to help with WoTG missions if they made AFv3 come from Walk of Echos. There will be a rush of people trying to do it again, but it somehow pains people to want to willingly help someone when they're already past it.

    Are you implying that Dynamis - San d'Oria and Southern San d'Oria serve the exact same purpose?

    For me, there's a difference paying $10 for a single event that's just a rehash of stuff, versus areas being added to an expansion pack I paid $40 for a long while ago that had a shitload more content, some of which is rehashed also.

    Hm reskinned areas/mobs seems a bit of a letdown but oh well at least it's new content.
