Maybe if SE keeps adding relic-esque sets of weapons, someday they'll get it right and manage to make them all decent!
No thanks, I'd rather SE took the effort they'd put into an endeavor like the Mythic weapons and put it towards something useful and/or that wouldn't be out of reach for the vast majority of players.
I don't want to think about "new relics" cause i know the requirements will be absurd.
"Kill King Behemoth 8 times"
"Kill Nidhogg 12 Times"
"Kill AbysseaOdin 20 times"
"Kill AbysseaBehemor 30 Times"
"Collect 200,000,000 Abyssite Shards that drop in increments of 1 only from a "king" HNM that spawns off a normal HNM that spawns every 7-8 Weeks"
"Then you'll need 500,000,000 Gil for the cost of the weapon upgrade!"
"Here's your DMG:28 Delay:200 Katana that makes Mijin gakure do 10% more Damage"
"What? an after-reward? oh, heres 100 gil back, thank pal!"
Edit:
Been looking at the pictures more and more, Do you people see that fking h2h weapon MNK is using >.>? Its like a Kenkoken with Horns o.O;; the Taru is using a club that looks like a smaller "Battle Club (Its a staff)".
Looks fun, I wonder if those will be further upgrades of the Magian "DMG" Weapons or completely new relics =o!

Inb4 SE introduces new crab-type monsters(in the new dunes) which reward 20k exp per kill but spams a TP move which dispels all bard songs, corsair rolls, and refresh. Also all of its attacks are unavoidable(ignores evasion, shadows, and third eye) and each of its regular attacks deal 1k damage per hit.
However, -physical damage taken are three times as effective against these new monsters(and it caps not at -50%, but up to -90% against these mobs) and the crabs regularly alternatives between taking 200% damage from magic damage(but only 25% from physical) and 200% from physical(but only 25% from magical).
Also it's immune to all forms of sleep and it has 50% enhanced movement speed.
Bringing back the old days of earth staff tanking, SATA setups, mixed BLM and melee parties, and down time between pulls.
Quoted for the truth.I don't want to think about "new relics" cause i know the requirements will be absurd.

With the announcement of new weaponskills, something crossed my mind. SE could make an attempt to shake things up (and probably piss a lot of people off) if they made Abyssea mobs highly resistant to current weaponskills, and that the new weaponskills are the only ones that will do any form of damage to them. What would make things interesting (depending on how you look at it) is if these weaponskills were balanced out among all jobs but they didn't do ridiculous (2k) damage to the mobs. If they gave us this slower pace of killing and upped the exp per kill on these mobs to make it competitive with what we currently do today, I wonder if people will accept it or just say the hell with it and level sync or TP burn elsewhere.
How many group of areas which are consistent to the pattern of the 3 nations don't have maws in them? There are the three crag areas for sure. I guess Bubu and Dunes are likely candidates. Perhaps we can safely add Qufim to that. Then you got the other starting area of each nation. What I am figuring here is that by the end of this set of mini-expansions we will have a maw in every conquest field zone. (And we will get nothing but "rehashed" zones.)
There are also Giddeus, Outpost, and Mines to consider. Crag zones also have their dungeons(which could perhaps even be connected to them). I really doubt we will get dungeons out of this though.
Probably most interesting would be just how "rehashed" these zones are. Will they have the aesthetic differences of a [S] zone or will they be more like Dynamis?
