I mentioned CT a lot and I've only lived here for about 3 years.

But yes California and Texas seem to have bigger budgets when it comes to textbooks (which is why they have some much influence). The schools I sub here always seem to have pretty new books for everything. From when I subbed in CT, everyone was using the same books I was using. And from what I know that's pretty common for most states who give very limited educational budgets.
