Callers and local media reports to WWL radio say that crews were bussed in to clean the shoreline where Obama and members of the media flew over, and as soon the flyover was done the crews packed up and left.

Not being sarcastic but I did appreciate Obama coming down here again but to be honest he went to a place where the impact is minimal. It's like me going further west in Louisiana 5 years ago after katrina with some national media and taking a photo where the damage isn't nearly as what it was IN neworleans.

He should have got in a boat and went down to Barataria Bay into the marshes to really see it up close instead of picking a spot to come where he knew he would look good to the rest of the country and look worse to us on the gulf coast.

somewhat agreed. The sad thing is though Bush had more control over what went on during Katrina then Obama does over this.

Its a failure sure but its not like the Federal Government with all its resources has a magic button to make it stop.

Until 1500+ people die in part because of gross negligence this will never be as bad as Katrina.

Rachel Maddow used 1979's oil spill's coverage to compare to BP's efforts today. Top Hat today = "Sombrero" in 1979. Chemical dispersants, booms and top kill were all used 30 years ago and now the same FAILED techniques are used because technology to stop something like this never caught up with drilling technology.

nah I absolutely agree, but he did the most stupid fucking thing by getting in front of the nation and saying "I got this" when it's not his to get and nobody has it. I meant more of the disaster fallout rather than the disaster itself.

What do they have to gain by not cleaning this up ASAP? The resources they are losing are their own. The people doing all of the work to stop it are their own people. The PR fallout is all theirs. But they are just big bad people that want to see birds soaked with oil.

they've made like 2 appearances of the past what... 3 or 4 weeks explaining what they're doing and how they're thinking of fixing it. that looks bad and leads lots of people to assume. Right.
