Dungeon Siege 3 has been announced by publisher Square Enix, and will be developed by Fallout: New Vegas and Alpha Protocol developer Obsidian Entertainment for the Xbox 360, PlayStation 3 and PC.

According to Square Enix, Chris Taylor -- creator of the original Dungeon Siege games at developer Gas Powered Games -- will serve as an "advisor" during the game's development.

"[Obsidian is] a very talented developer who really knos what it takes to build a deep and engaging RPG experience, and I can't think of a better group to continue the Dungeon Siege series," said Taylor in a statement issued today.

Dungeon Siege 3 will be the first time that the series -- a fantasy-themed role-playing game -- will be playable on home consoles.

The game is expected to appear at E3.

Actor and musician Ice-T may play a role in Epic's upcoming shooter Gears of War 3.

During a live internet chat, Ice-T (as spotted by Giant Bomb) "casually mentioned" that he would play a role in the upcoming game, before quickly adding "I didn't just say that."

If true, this certainly will not be Ice-T's first videogame voice role - players may remember him as the character Madd Dogg in Grand Theft Auto: San Andreas, as well as playing himself in 2004's Def Jam Fight for NY.

We should have more on Gears of War 3 at E3.

I loved Dungeon Siege 1 and 2, and was just ranting to my brother about wanting a third one, so this is great news for me. Nothing better than a grindy-happy little offline RPG to kill time with.

I do hope it'll release on PC, though - DS doesn't sound like DS if its console only.

He started writing an article again for Xbox magazine as soon as he started up his new studio so rumors are his ties with MS are still strong, likely an Xbox exclusive, but we'll have to wait and see.
