    motionplus needs to be calibrated before each use (by placing the remote upside down on a hard flat surface), seems like they didn't do that

    although it's really not all that great even when it's calibrated lol

    I get the feeling the game does use IR sensing as well, but the problem is that he holds the remote upwards and the lights above are fucking it up.

    Motion Plus is not fail, see Red Steel 2 for it's greatness. The controls just seem wonky for Zelda.
