given sony's record at keeping secret information... secret, i'm gonna say they either just barely missed a good surprise or they intentionally put these out a few days early.

also its entirely possible Sony wants to get a jump start on Microsoft for the next console generation, seeing as how well the 360 did getting out a year early and how much it hurt PS3 sales a year later, they could easily be doing this to help recovery efforts and not let it happen again.

Waiting a full 10 years for the ps3 to die out would just put them in the same situation a second time.

Didn't SE recently get rid of Spiderman 3 font from PS3/PSN so that they can "unite" everything under the "Playstation" brand? That logo doesn't seem to fall in line with this...

Theres no way they would be making another console... It's too soon. Developers still can't fully push the capabilities of the PS3.

Font change was to go with the new look of the PS3 Slim and their change in marketing practices.

I highly doubt we see a PS4 this year, the PS3 has been out 4 full years, doubt we see a new console until 2012-2013.

Thats just the new Wii Zelda they have already announced. First time we'll see it though, and its supposed to break away from the previous Zelda formula, so i'll be interested.

Requested off work on the Nintendo/Sony day since i really don't think Microsoft will have any surprises for us, and i like surprises. Also 3DS.

If you pay attention to the video game blogosphere, you may have witnessed a couple of mysterious YouTube videos floating around from a YouTube channel named "SCELabs." The videos claimed to be leaked teasers for an impending PlayStation 4 announcement. Guess what? They aren't.

Sony hardware PR representative Al de Leon broke it down for us in the simplest way possible: "I can confirm that this video is not from SCE [Sony Computer Entertainment]."

This isn't a huge surprise considering the unlikelihood of Sony introducing a next-generation console right when they're attempting to revitalize the PS3 with the new Move controller. And that's not even mentioning the still-shaky economy, which would make pushing expensive new hardware a bit risky right now.

Some writers had theorized that the "PS4" logo could be a new marketing scheme to push the motion-sensing and 3D capabilities being added to the PlayStation 3, particularly since the latest video seems to focus on 3D gaming, but apparently that is not the case.
