I just spoke to a PR rep from Nintendo, we're on the way to the sony conference, she said no official release date or pricing for the 3DS just yet, but she doubt we'll see the 3DS this year.

Does the 3DS itself look 'finished'?

Just wondering if they're still prototyping it (that would be a lot of fucking prototype models they had with the...erm, models), or just holding themselves until they got a large library of launch titles to work with since the holiday season is already geared pretty damn well for the Wii/DS.

no doubt about it that some good stuff has been leaked, but people here are going in to the conference hoping for huge megatons which usually end up in disappointment if past e3's are anything to go by.

The 3ds tech is not really blow you away 3D. It's more or less designed to just provide an extra level of depth to environments and I think I'd actually prefer that style of 3D use for future gaming to be honest.

Sorry, I just don't get all juicy over some Mickey Mouse games. I have a hard enough time explaining to girls what Street Fighter is and why they should ignore the arcade stick next to my bed when I'm trying to yeah yeah yeah.

For those not watching the extra Nintendo feed, they've mentioned Starfox twice now saying that trying to fly through hoops is difficult in the 3D, but seeing the depth and movement in action on the 3DS makes things much easier. Whether this means there is already a Starfox game in development or it's just an example, I dunno but it sounds like (also hinted by the commercial) that Stafox will be out on the 3DS at some point.

agreed, 3DS 3D to the 3D that the consoles are aiming to bring will be 2 completely different experiences. From what I've read on gaf about the impressions from the 3D patch on the PS3, they say that it is 'a lot more 3D than movies like Avatar'. I still haven't tried it myself but I wouldn't mind giving it a try

Well from the 5 minutes I got to look at it, it looks like it is about finished but hard to tell until I get time to see it for myself later, but that sliding panel or stick if you call it that, looks like it can wear out a thumb or two.
