Now that is how you make good environment friendly propaganda.
http://www.1up.com/do/newsStory?cId=...%28Sony+PS3%29Countdown clocks are a dime a dozen in this industry, especially in the run-up to E3. But truly, no one knows how to make them quite as bewildering as Hideo Kojima.
Kojima Productions' E3 website has gone live this morning, but currently all it shows is a countdown leading toward Tuesday, June 15 (the official start of E3). Well, that, and a grid of 30 random images of something getting cut -- from various types of fruit to an uncooked chicken, tree branch, combination lock, and even someone's hair.
Mysterious? Yes, but maybe not quite as mysterious as it would have been before Microsoft seemingly accidentally leaked the box art for Metal Gear Solid Rising yesterday, which prominently features main character Raiden with a katana. And of course, Raiden certainly cut the hell out of a lot of people and things with his katana throughout Metal Gear Solid 4...so could all the cutting imagery be setting gamers up for more slicing and dicing action to be shown in Rising at E3? Seems likely, at least.
As for whether Kojima will show any other projects -- or whether this cutting motif even extends to any other projects -- is hard to say. We do know he's got two other unannounced projects in the works, and let's not forget that last year's also-bizarre face-and-mask-themed E3 countdown resulted in the reveal of Metal Gear Solid: Rising, Metal Gear Solid: Peace Walker, and Castlevania: Lords of Shadow.

Games Thirst has recorded posts from popular gaming forum NeoGAF to suggest that the Xbox360 Slim will be revealed at E3 with integrated Wi-Fi and a 250GB HDD. The poster, going by the name "Annoying Old Party Man" has demonstrated his intel on these matters before by predicting Halo: Reach's reveal months ahead of time.
This, plus the smaller 360 motherboard pictures floating around, makes this a very believable rumor. More to come next week at E3.

Gameblog.fr is reporting a rumor that Nintendo will announce a new Wii model at E3, codenamed Hi-Fi. There aren't many juicy details, but the French blog is saying that it will be as powerful as an Xbox360 with a November 2011 release date.
I've been wrong before, but I don't believe this for a second...but it's not my job to judge, only to report. We'll find our for sure at E3 in under a week.

I dont want a new wii unless I can mod it
plus I feel like I'm in some sort of exclusive club having played all these awesome games that no one else seems to want to give the time of day lol
Heh I remember that rumor last year about having that new HD blueray Wii fall 2010 and announced a month before release
not really E3 news, but the PS Move is going to be over hyped anyways.
http://www.ps3news.com/PlayStation-3...n-fcc-listing/A few months back a PlayStation Move FCC listing was uncovered revealing Model CECH-ZCM1U, and today SiliconEra.com has discovered schematics of exactly what makes Sony's PlayStation Move Controller function with the PS3 entertainment system.
To quote:Those interested can check out the PlayStation Move Controller schematics below."This is what’s inside, according to a schematic drawing from a patent filed by Sony Computer Entertainment America.
The accelerometer tracks motion. The gyroscope detects orientation. The magnetometer measures the direction and strength of nearby magnetic fields. And here’s a diagram of the circuit board."

The funny thing is that most of the best wii games don't even make that much use of the motion controller besidies pointing, so I guess it means the PS move doesn't have to be that great anyway. Hell... Little Kings Story, Monster Hunter, Rune Factory and Muramasa don't even use it at all. For shooting/action games on wii, being able to manually aim with a reticule makes a huge difference though, so hopefully the PS Move is just as responsive/precise. RE4 on Wii is by far the best version for that reason, and the highest scores on the online leaderboards for Sin & Punishment 2 are ALL wiimote+nunchuck, as you can't get that precision with the classic controller analog stick.
For me, the motion plus sucks, because with things like Red Steel 2 and Ghostslayer (wiiware motionplus game) it's unbelievably annoying that you can't just flick your wrist to swing the sword and have it be enough.
lol@ 360 ps3 version, if they price it right (-299) and they fixed the rrod issues i might pick one up though
I would love to play some of those tech demos they had for Move, such as the one where you handle two Moves, and they appear in the game's space, and you could move them about, pick up objects, and place them, stack them, etc. I would love to play a puzzle game based on that concept. I see PSN being a great opportunity for Move to flex some of its muscle with some cheap downloads.
(hell, a Boom Blox port would be awesome)
Anyways, does anyone know if there are sites that'll be streaming the conferences at all this year? I used to rely on GameSpot, but last year their servers couldn't keep up.
spike is airing a ton of stuff w/ gametrailers, pretty sure most of it will be on thier site shortly after if not live, somebody posted a link a few pages back
