I just downloaded this and it is taking forever to create a world. Is that normal? The first time it kept rejecting worlds up to like number 24 and I closed out. Now it's on world 5(Rejected) but adding a lot of stuff and it says I'm in Golden Age 1050 and all that, but I can't do anything haha. I don't get it

if you start off selecting 'create world with parameters' youre likely to get many rejected worlds, otherwise it should only take a few minutes to generate a world. unless youre on an amiga 2000 or something

once the world has been successfully generated you will see 3 different displays, with some keyboard help below them

the left most is the map you will play on, the middle is a region map, the right is the world map. you use the three screens to pick an environment to start in. like with trees and shit

Running DF2010 takes 700,000 K Mem and 95% CPU usage, ha. I just started DF2010, was playing d40 before... like twice the resources now.

I played around a bit on d40, but I learned on DF2010. You should've seen how much it devoured resources before the merge.

I mostly stopped playing for a bit because of all of the combat bugs, but now that they're mostly fixed, I'm tempted to get back in. If only I could pull myself away from Space Station 13.
