    PSP memory question

    Right place to ask?

I've been using this fat psp since it originally came and never bought a new memory card to replace this 32MB one.

Will I be able to transfer my save data over to a new card?

Assuming you're not using M33 CFW, yes.

If you put your memory card into your PC, the save directory should come up as something like L:\PSP\SAVEDATA. Just copy the folders to your pc, then copy those back over to the new memory stick. You can also download saved games online and put them in the SAVEDATA folder as well.

    @Cheerios

    Thanks.

I figured it would be something complicated to do but I guess it's not.

I've been told that it only does everything.

And I seriously cannot comprehend owning a PSP and not hacking it. Even if you don't want to pirate PSP games it's so much better hacked. Emulators alone make it so worth it.

Why would the memory stick in the PSP work any differently than the ones from digital cameras? They're the same memory sticks. Get a card reader or use your PSP as one in USB mode. Then just move the files you need. I thought this was covered in the PSP manual.

I actually never read the manual since I lost it. I do have a card reader so I guess that would be the easier way?

I asked this because I didn't want to lose all my shit when I get one of the higher GB cards.

Oh and point me into the direction of psp hacking then. I don't have space right now to do it but I guess I can bookmark it for later.

I just never felt the "need" to hack it really.

Been a few months since I modded my 2000-slim, but as the others have said it's so worth it.

Ps1/Snes/Sega Genesis/Nes (etc) on the go is pure win imho.

I believe I went here to do the mod

    pspslimhacksdotcom/easy-chickhen-custom-firmware-installer-without-pandora/

just downloaded some software to my psp, installed it to the memory card, a few steps later I was good to go.

Just please make sure ya read the directions all the way through before ya start.

As regards to the modding through the ps3 I have no idea, I don't have one. /sad

    Good Luck
