What kind of dumbass doctors can't diagnosis something so simple.

that's why working as a doctor is called a practice and not a perfect!

Well, wtf surely a doctor would have tried an anti-histamine?
I'd try an other the counter one, I doubt it could hurt to try. Thou he might have meds or illness that would interact with it. So would be better for a doctor to prescribe it.
I've got to think that it isn't as simple as that if the doctors ain't decided that is what it is.
it's a stab in the dark, but like folks said it could be an allergy that developed over time. Try swapping out to a hypoallergenic version of the soaps/detergents used first...but usually a contact allergy is going to be in places where there is the most contact- especially on clothing (around the neck/shoulders perhaps. The forearm doesn't really touch the material all that much).
Other than that he'd really have to look into what he was doing back when this started. Did he clean out some old camping equipment? Poison ivy/oak oils can lay dormant on things for ages.
I had a very similar rash all over my arms, legs, and chest when i was pregnant, in my last 2 weeks(itchy, red, tiny fluid filled blisters). My doctors had no clue what it was either, but said it was most likely a type of Dermatitis, or eczema. In my case the trigger was the pregnancy. But it could be a number of things that cause it, even down to something he's been eating.
I really have no idea how to correct it as mine went away as soon as i gave birth. If he can find out what the irritant is that's causing it, he should be golden. If they haven't tested/checked for eczema I'd have them check it out. Do some allergy skin tests as well. And see if he's been taking any new kind of medication since right before the rash appeared, or even if he's been maybe sweating a bit more then usual.
fuck you. I asked here because I know some people here and trust their input. Anyone can be a doctor on the internet (or say they are one,) and I'm not familiar with people on some random medical forum. If you don't have anything helpful or constructive to add, kindly go fuck yourself.
Thank you everyone else. The shingles thing had crossed my mind (because it looks JUST like that) but I was under the impression that shingles could only occur on ONE side of the body at a time, and this is on both sides.
Pandagod, that true? I'm thinking if not, then that's what this is. Either way, we're getting him to trim his diet back to bland stuff (so we can gradually re-add things) and changing to Ivory Snow soap.
Thanks for the input guys. This is just weird because my grandad never gets sick or ever has anything medically wrong with him. He's healthier than pretty much everyone in our family and he's 69 years old.
Now now, lets not bash him considering he already went to a doctor about it. Let's also not ignore the fact that his question was basically answered. You dont necessarily have to be a doc to know whats wrong sometimes.
