    Everquest on Droid

The original EverQuest consumed lives and created extreme addictions due to the vast open universe and close knit community over the years. Even with the release of EverQuest II many devoted fans never strayed from the original and continue to play to this day over a decade later. Those who continue to feed their EverCrack addiction may be in luck when they need to hop into the game at the drop of a hat. Some crafty folks have been able to allow players to carry their beloved EverQuest in their pockets and play via a Motorola Droid using a VNC program. The client is running on a computer which is being remotely accessed via the Droid and running as smooth as can be. Don't believe us? Hit the jump and check out the video for yourself.

Is he running it over WiFi signal? I can't picture 3G having that kind of response time.

Also, VNC on handhelds in general is old stuff though, but I guess it's cool the Droid can do it competently.

Iv been doing this with FFXI for some time. I even do a few fights when I am on bard and dont really have to move. I cant see to find a way to get the running input to work to well. I do that one foot sorta walk run thing ~_~ and move slow as dirt.

Windower bind/macros make it somewhat easy to play bard so thats the only reason it can work.

I use it mostly to chat with the LS tho.

Edit: that seems even faster then when I use a wi-fi link. If I could get it to run that well it be great LOL

I'm more so just surprised that people still play Everquest.

That's a silly thing to say, Fievel. It's 16th expansion was just released in December '09. It's going well enough to keep the servers up. I hope FFXI Online continues to get the same treatment that EQ has been getting.

Why? As far as actual role playing experiences go, its still one of the best.

With the way square is treating FFXI, I wouldn't be surpised if at the end of the 2011 quarter they kill the game because "we have to many servers open and merging would not fix the issue of the cost to keep the servers up, so good bye. oh by the way FF14 is out should go pick that up so we can do the same shit to you. Thanks."
