Okay!
What I got was, every pregnancy is an accident and/or mistake.
Okay!
xD
I've been taking public transportation almost religiously since I started high school. I will offer my seat to the following;
A) Pregnant women, whether she planned to get knocked up or not is irrelevant since I was raised to give up my seat to them, and even if I ignore that feeling pregnant women are prone to mood swings and I'd rather not have to hear that shit or be a part of it if I can.
B) Elderly because they are old and smell and it gives me an excuse to move away
C) People with crutches since I know from hurting my leg playing JV in High School that walking with crutches for awhile can get tiring, sit down right here man.
D) Vietnam veterans because every one that I have met is fucking crazy and I am not gonna get Epic Beard Guy'd, just move down the train car.
Hot girls can stand because that way I can pretend to be playing PSP or reading but really checking them out.
There are people who make a ton of money at their job that still take public transportation here in NYC. When you compare paying $89 for a 1-month unlimited use metrocard that you can use as much as you want until midnight to the price of a car that you are probably going to be paying off every month + interest, as well as the ridiculous insurance rates here, public transportation has little now to do with being poor but more to do with "well frankly if I can get from A to B comfortably on the train or boss and save SO MUCH MORE MONEY PER MONTH OMG, prolly better to just take the train."
And let's also not forget that you are SAFER in a bus or train compared to a car on these streets.
So again even if we ignore the fact that NYC transit system is actually very good compared to other parts in the country, if your transportation system gets you to the places you need to go reliably enough and you could use that money for something else then it's perfectly reasonable to not get a car at this point in time. It's pretty foolish to believe only poor people take the bus.
People I'd get up for when I'm not in the 'reserved seating' area.
A) Myself when it's my stop.
I remember when my boy got his Honda Civic and pimped it out abit, put some money on that car.
Then some people put it on bricks and stole the tires and various other parts. But hey, I guess putting money into a car and parking it in the projects that you live at is smarter than moving to a better neighborhood and taking the train to work. I'm sure the bitches love cars on blocks, shit is gangsta.
Eh don't really live in a city big enough for this to occur (town of maybe 1000) but I suppose if the lady seemed uncomfortable I would give her my seat if not then have fun standing.
Only people in NYC would understand the above. While the other major cities have pretty shitty public transport, NYC's system is used by people of all social classes and rush hour reflects that. From the bum to the Scrooge McDuck, everyone uses mass transit here.
It just makes good economic sense.
Needless to say, Id give up my seat for a pregnant chick simply because it doesn't take anything off me to stand. The same goes for old people. I may not always offer but if they ask i'll give it.
He's just dumb all around, I just like telling that story cause it's hilarious. Insurance is already ridiculous in this city for a car if you're below the age of 80(exaggeration but you get the idea) , but he couldn't get a policy to insure all the custom parts because he, wait for it, spent too much on custom parts and couldn't afford what they were asking. Still make fun of this guy over that.
