Which do you prefer, newegg or tigerdirect?
I like tigerdirect's interface a lot better, newegg seems to have a few more dollars off sometimes though. I have yet to use either but I am about to make a few purchases. Which do you think is best?

Newegg's daily prices are usually a lot better. Tigerdirect has a lot more specials where they get a bulk shipment of product and sell them on the cheap.
I have to +1 the above comment.
I recommend this site to my friends and whatnot, I have yet to have an issue with this site.
Never bought from Tigerdirect.com but most of the feedback I have gotten about them has been good.
On a personal note I did buy my pc two years ago at the rebranded CompUsa stores that are owned by Tigerdirect.
I've had no problems with it and I can't complain about the price.
Cavet Emptor / YMMV
Tigerdirect was the best thing on the face of the earth about 5~10 years ago, now Newegg is just a beast.
Newegg for customer service, shipping speed, interface, etc.
I use Tiger Direct for overstock items, and for purchases that I need the following day for cheap shipping costs. I don't live too far from the warehouse, so it's practically 1 day shipping for the 3-5 day price.
newegg baby, bought pretty much everything computer-wise from there, ships from jersey most of the time so it's near next day delivery, Plus as everyone said customer service = A+
Almost 100% of the things I order from newegg are shipped from a warehouse about an hour from me. I can choose the standard shipping, whatever is free, and sometimes see the item next day. Always get the item the same week.
In fact, my GPU arrived today (we'll say its still friday). Think I ordered it on wednesday after 3pm PST, so no rush shipping or anything. Standard shipping that was free. Whats really funny is I was waiting for my invoice and tracking number to enter my email. Didn't see it on thursday and got worried. On friday, there it is in my Email. Open it up, click tracking number... it tells me product is at my door and was delivered. lol.
Very rarely does something come from further, I built an entire PC recently, only one part came from out of state. Arrived 1 day later then rest of build.
I will never even bother tying Tigerdirect with how great newegg has been to me. Every part I recieve is new, no scratches great packaging, no dead pixels, fast delivery is a bonus I guess cause of my location but really I can't find a flaw at all.
I prefer NewEgg for most purchases, but Tiger Direct does sometimes have great deals on products they get in bulk. I'll always shop around and see what arenas have the best pricing/reviews for a product, as most times people are rating the provider as much as the product. I also order some stuff from Frozen CPU when I can't find it other places, but they tend to be more expensive. And I will rarely order from outside suppliers, like the Fractal Design case I ordered from a European provider since I couldn't find an American retailer offering it.
I'd say NewEgg has a solid 90~94% of my computer purchases, with the rest being split out amoungst other providers. That doesn't include watercooling parts however, as I almost exclusively get those from Koolance when I'm setting up that kind of system, with my backup being DangerDen.
I used to get the TigerDirect magazine. I remember their shit being cheap but usually had some sort of rebate attached that made it cheap. Then I went to ZipZoomFly due to their free 2nd day shipping(not sure if they still do this?). Although ZipZoomFly doesn't have near the inventory. But now I mostly use Newegg, they are sort of in between. Their customer support really sets them apart. Their combo deals are pretty good. And their saving is usually direct, rather than rebates.
TigerDirect is great if you are the kind of person who will work hard for a bargain. They have a lot of big sales and mail in rebates.
NewEgg is better if you want more consistent prices and their customer service really is unmatched.
Newegg for customer service and the really easy to browse site (quite honestly the best online store interface I know of). Ewiz for the cheap deals, they've got "15% off up to $15" codes (for everything) just about every week. I have no reason to go to TigerDirect between those two.
Edit: Little more praise for Newegg's Customer Service: Bought a 1TB Samsung F3 for $90+$5 shipping on a Friday, chose 3 day shipping since it was cheapest. Monday they have a sale on the F3 for $80. I haven't received my F3 yet so I contact Newegg and they give me $10 back so I can pay the deal's price. I didn't want to bother them about the free shipping it had, so no clue if they would've gave me that as well... already felt like I was stealing.
Newegg is just the cat's meow. 500x better than Tiger.
And get on all of newegg's mailing lists. Some of their email specials are just amazing.
When I first built my current machine I bought the parts from TigerDirect, and haven't bought anything from them since. I bought from them partly because they now own CompUSA and I have a good history with them, and because I was trying to get the best deal and I thought what I built was good enough at the time (it wasn't and I ended up rebuilding a year later). That was my fault tho for not researching stuff.
Tiger's service was perfectly fine, however Newegg's interface is much easier to work with (especially with the recent improvements) and their prices on most things are lower. Tiger will sometimes pop a deal out tho that beats Newegg. Also, Newegg sells a MUCH great variety of parts. Both have their pet brands (Tiger is Ultra, Newegg is Rosewill I think..)
Tigerdirect is awesome for sniper shopping when you can get epic deals on a few things, but Newegg is my go-to because of the overall lower prices on regular stuff plus the CS is the best I've ever dealt with for computer parts.
And the Newegg email promos can be insane sometimes making totally worth the email filler.
which one of these sites is best for Canadians? I live in Vancouver so NCIX is pretty cheap, but i've never checked out Newegg or Tigerdirect.
Ok, after doing some things on newegg. I like newegg better.
I also noticed a difference in rebate policy. From what I read it seems tigerdirect only lets you get 2 rebates at a time. Newegg lets you get one rebate per product. I am not sure if that is 100% accurate on either side though.
Newegg is hands down better imo. Both for casual buying and hunting for lowest prices.
I've built over 3 computers with 90% newegg items. Also have bought random audio, video, camera equiptment aswell from newegg, never once was displeased.
Tigerdirect was used once by me, they weren't extremely helpful but were able to find what I was looking for [a case that was no longer in production]. newegg was not able to find the case in their stock. So try tigerdirect if you can't find an oddball on newegg
