    The next version update will usher in a change of Twilight God proportions with the lifting of level restrictions in Chains of Promathia areas. Tweaks bound to further enhance your adventuring experience in these areas are also in the works.

    The upcoming version update will see the lifting of level restrictions in Chains of Promathia areas. In light of the planned level cap increase, the level and distribution of enemies in certain Promathia areas will also be adjusted to pose a worthy challenge to players level 75 and beyond. A journey of rediscovery to your favorite areas of old awaits!

    Level restrictions will be lifted in the areas below:
    Pso'Xja / Promyvion - Holla / Promyvion - Dem / Promyvion - Mea / Promyvion - Vahzl / Phomiuna Aqueducts / Sacrarium / Riverne - Site #B01 / Riverne - Site #A01

    Does this mean what I think it does? All the mission BCs are uncapped, but unchanged in difficulty? So you could go start soloing the Promy bosses or some crazy shit like that?

    lol, why not just let players summon a NPC who beats the BC for them? CoP is "officially" ruined. (Final battles included with the cap increase)

    EDIT: Well, this is what the bunch of you pussies were asking for since the beginning. I guess SE does care.

    If they put high level shit on the way to the BC areas that would be such a cruel joke. I can see it now, promy paths having level 90 mobs otw up top.

    Well to be fair this is pretty much the same as all the older missions. Not a challenge at all. I don't really see a major problem with it since FFXI isn't exactly far from it's death.

    It's not like everyone hasn't already completed those missions. Those who haven't probably have more problems getting help than is acceptable, too. Better let those guys solo/duo the missions rather than not do them at all.

    removing level cap on bcs hmm..

    well .. no one can have an excuse for not having this shit done now, only missions I could see being difficult still are the last few but that's it lol.

    Well, what do you consider "death". EQ1 is still still around, UO is still around, I don't see why XI wouldn't be around in the next 5 years and beyond..

    Yes, this is optimal: You remove some of the few challenging portions of the game so you can skip straight into grinding limbus and sea. Man, all this valuable content getting in the way of tedious toy collecting! All this play in the way of the work!

    Updates are like sequels and in the case of MMOs they are sequels which permanently delete all predecessors. So they could come out with a shitty version of my favorite game which cater to casuals and "adventurers" who want to "proceed with easier hearts", I could still pop in the older game and ignore it. But now something like the 6-4 battle simply doesn't exist anymore. I would have to impose some seriously retarded(if not infeasible) restrictions on myself(and 5 other people!!!) to get anywhere close to that experience again. (Without experiences like that, you have to ask yourself what else does this game have? Are you suppose to get that same feeling with you lot a 990 on some piece of relic or acquire enough points in your linkshell point system to lot some abjuration?) They are not "nerfing CoP", they are nerfing the players.

    EDIT: Seriously? Adventurers who want to proceed with easier hearts! That's a fucking catchphrase right there.

    EDIT: But what kind of dealer gets in the way of an addict's fix? To be expected I guess, but this is simply the most blatant, the most exemplary dumbing-down I've ever seen in a videogame. It deserves a post or three.

    I'd like to think SE will have thought of that and left the main paths as they are or are creating an aulternative way of reaching the mission bcnm. Otherwise you'll still need a party to get to the fight. Would be highly amusing though.

    raise of mob's level in promyvions: People are going to get 75 level syched on their favorite colibri camps or AB, so Promys will be skill up areas basically.

    level restriction still applies to ENMs: nothing happened ( guessing it also applies to level 75 ENMs). This leads one to think many of the current end game stuff will still be 75 caped...

    If by many endgame stuff you mean KSNMs/BCNMs/ENMs then yes.
    Limbus/Dynamis/ToAU zones/Salvage/etc. do not have level caps and most likely won't get one.
    That would completely defeat the purpose of raising the level cap.

    Basty is the only nation I haven't completed (currently rank 3) but it's so stupid that there are still 2 level caped BCs. Pretty much all 8 of my 75's could solo those BC's blind folded but noooo gotta be level capped...


    Then immediately after I get to bitch slap the Shadowlord @ lv 80? Ok then SE. Epic fight vs iconic villain is uncapped, while the stupid trivial fights aren't.

    While it does sound retarded at first to ruin most of the CoP missions by removing the level caps, the game is well on it's way out. At some point, getting a full group together to do those missions is going to be virtually impossible, if it isn't already for some. Seems to me this change is there mostly for that purpose; to keep the shit completable when the game is even deader than it is now.

    FFXI has almost zero new subscribers, and everyone who cared about doing CoP for the fun/challenge has long since completed it anyway, so it's hard to really give a shit.
