    Network Hacked via Stickam?

I was on Stickam with some friends (lol)

Some guy comes in, we boot him. He comes back, says if we don't apologise he's going to shut off my internet. Obviously I said fuck off, somehow he got my IP, then I booted him. Seconds later my internet cut out, accross my whole network. It was all my PCs that weren't able to connect.

The hacker somehow got my house phone number and has been proceeding to spam call me for the past hour via Skype. I am unable to use my phone line as well. I have Comcast. Its a combined modem (telephone & internet)

What happened? What should I do?
Its not that big of a deal, I can get another modem from Comcast, but its still fucking annoying.

Sounds like someone that has access to your network is fucking with you. How are you getting skype calls without internet access?

Pick up the phone call and apologize and ask if he can restore your internet.

Does your modem have an embedded server? Like if you type its adress in your browser it gives you a page with settings

Maybe you left default password and he just changed shits in there. (Happens frequently, I could fuck 10 of my neighboors right now if I wanted to)

Somehow he got my home phone number and is using numbers like 000-123-4567 to call me with. Also one of them says a skype username on the caller ID.

No, there is no server, its just like a normal modem. My router is fully protected under WPA2 with a 15 character long password. Firewall on.

My internet still doesn't work, even after resetting (via Comcast side & client side) and my phone is still getting blown up by the same number.

Call up Comcast and tell them to change your IP? Tell them you want a Dynamic IP configuration from here on out?

I've got them to change my IP twice now, the first time it lasted about 5 minutes, now it seems to be running ok.

How the fuck would someone be able to do this? Especially through a flash based site like Stickam, and only with my IP address. How would the get my home phone number?

If they get a WHOIS on your IP address, sometimes the ISPs link that to your personal information on file. I've done that to people before downloading things from them on DirectConnect, and geting a WHOIS on their IP address with NetLimiter. Then I private message them with their last name and state and scare them pretty bad. Nothing more malicious than that. It's amazing how much information returns from a WHOIS query though. Sometimes it's a full name with street address and phone number, for a residence.

Should just go to the police and get this on record. No matter how bad you think what he's doing is atm it's going to be far worse for him when it's a matter of public record that he stalked a person because of getting butthurt by a stranger not wanting to talk to him on the internet.

Without a real suspect....... or even crime (harassment maybe?) I wouldn't even bother going to the police. Go have a nice chat with your ISP instead

A chat with Comcast about anything is like talking to a black guy about hockey.

He's harrassing the guy via phone. he's destroyed multiple services that was legally the Op's and is being paid for by the op and quite frankly that's what investigations are there to uncover which the POLICE are supposed to handle.
If a RL stalker shut down a woman's Electricity and water while constantly harassing her would said stalker be violating any laws? The OP is going through the same thing with a different medium of execution. If the guy is in the USA but not the same state then that probably makes it federal and as such something to be sent to the FBI.
You aren't as anonymous as you think on the internet if a person actually digs records up and the guy involved probably ain't hiding behind 7 proxies.
Even if he doesn't get prosecuted the fact that he's going to get a visit from the police if they simply find his IP address which is probably conveniently stored somewhere already is going to scare the douchebag off.

If you ever need to change your IP again, change your router's MAC address to something else and power cycle the modem. You'll get assigned a different IP. Far easier than calling Comcast.

To access your modem (well, I guess it's an EMTA since you have digital voice), go to 192.168.100.1. There's nothing that can actually be changed in there though.

But, at the same time if OP lives in a large town........ the police are more than likely not going to spend manpower on someone being butthurt over the internet for a night, as this will probably never happen again.

Figure police power would be better suited for....... maybe homicide, robberies instead?

    *Edit*

Police will take the report if you go down there, they are required by law to take any incident reports. Just don't go expecting anything to actually get done on it.

yes that is true but the OP now has alot more free time I'd think to actually waste in the off chance something gets done.

If he had the know how to find the harasser's location which is surprisingly easy to do after you find even one chunk of personal info or the IP address he could submit that as well.
It's a long shot but given the amount of time spent by most on the internet he's certainly got the time to try now.
