We all know that SPAM is the appropriate place for intelligent conversation on these forums, as such I seek guidance, with a flavoring of QQ.
It's no secret that I like to argue, often about things I don't even necessarily agree with or believe personally.
So this thread is about strategy, or "How to convince stupid people that they're stupid", a daunting if not impossible task.
There's certain strategies that are employed by others that I find difficult to counter.
Consensus of Morons
I define this as when stupid people team up to take down a bigger target in debate. By reaffirming their own retarded position amongst each other, they give themselves an air of credible authority and use that to essentially drown you out.
I honestly have no viable defense against this except to get backed up myself, which rarely happens,
Meme Attack
When you're in a heated argument with someone, it seems like the first person to callwins automatically. If you are the defender though it is hard to time correctly, and the attacker can call it at any moment, leading to a dangerous game of Russian roulette with every post you don't call it on them first. However if you call it too early you just look stupid.
Amendment #1: If you are Titanss, Instant loss.
Rage Dismissal
Rage is often the goal, however if the opponent thinks you're raging they get a free "U MAD?" card. Since I have a very impassioned writing style I see this attack a lot, despite the fact that I almost always detach myself when discussing topics. This often can lead to a consensus of morons as well.
So let's brainstorm, what are some viable ways to improve my defenses? Simply being right isn't enough most of the time.
