There's really only so many ways to make long drawn out arguments, most arguments boil down to people arguing over minute once all the big claims are either discarded, dismissed or discredited.

My educated intellectualism routine is really limited unfortunately.

but it's easier to apply the techniques mentioned in your OP when it gets boiled down to one simple point that's difficult to refute or prove. by going with a technique, they provide a more comfortable/accepted response that will win over most people who aren't gonna be sold on your contentious (gotcha) point.

branch off a bit to keep them dancing... if you bring up a variety of points and they use a stock response (like the ones in your OP) for all of them, everyone else will catch on to their ineptitude. you should be able to get a few pinning questions that you can alternate as needed to seal the deal.

The problem is if you push for the win without relent like a fuckin' champ you get a bad rep as a bully or some gay shit because people cannot penetrate your flawless offensive defense.

If you want to piss people off and "win" any argument then you need to constantly march forward past all slings and arrows thrown at you. Not many people on the internet are looking to have their views adjusted by some anonymous fuck so actual debate is futile.

Find a focal point, take note of your adversaries soft spots and fucking ram away to no end until they fall back on memes or end up talking in circles.

I was just honestly caught off guard with the education thing, it wasn't what I was going for at all, I make a deliberate effort to never mention my credentials in an argument unless it's actually relevant(like a language, political, or metallurgy topic) because it just invites ad hominem . I was alluding to my "the law is for the people" stance, i.e. people should be their own lawyers for trivial stuff like licenses, permits, etc.

The fact that we can have a civil discussion here makes me proud though, a lot of useful critiques.
