Looks like a lot of the Droid community is in an outrage because of the change in processor. If it's a snapdragon then it's been heavily modified from its base version, because the Droid X blows the HTC incredible out of the water with them both using the same processor and speed, and version of android.

EDIT: Its a new TI Processor, both verizon and the inside source fucked up.

Still waiting on my Incredible... With a ship by date of the 29th I should have enough time to test the Droid X in store and still be within 30 days of trying Incredible.

Never been a Motorola fan, and I've been hyped for the Inc for months. A good GPU and CPU is hard to resist though.

Its a standard benchmark. Froyo increased the average droid device's performance by 400%, as seen with the nexus one. Literally makes a Droid make an incredible look like childs play with froyo installed.

Currently, the Droid X, or in that chart, the Shadow, is working almost as well as the Nexus post 2.2 update. Meaning that when you root your shadow to 2.2 boom. Makes any device on the market other than the Droid 2 look like a flaming pile of shit.

Yesterday’s new Droid X commercial deserves an award for social media buzz. This thing has been packed with enough nuggets to generate 3-4 posts from us. Nice work Verizon DROID campaign.

So the latest gem comes from the final second of the video when a July (7.2010) release date is displayed on screen. If you pause and capture the video right at the 15 second mark it sort of looks like 07.2.2010 which could mean we’ll see the device earlier than our predicted July 19th date.

Thoughts? I’m leaning towards this one just being a coincidence, but after the months of speculation and random rumors surrounding this device, I’m done calling anything.

Droid incredible has the same hardware as the nexus 1, but it runs 2.1 + Sense UI.

If you root to froyo you can just USB tether or get a wifi tether that's not affected by the data cap.

The Droid 1 Has a better GPU than the incredible. So yeah Droid X is def has a better GPU.

you can go into a verizon store and do this. it is a pretty painless procedure

froyo's release is supposed to come with the launch of the Droid X. No word yet(at least from Verizon) if other Android products will be updated to 2.2. I would be surprised if the incredible didnt get it.

No clue if I want to update my droid to the droid x >.< such a hard call. Droid is doing fine with 2.2 on it, might hold out till the next one.

Honestly, you can wait another year and upgrade to the LTE droids, or you can upgrade now and get an early upgrade again next year. Droid 2 should be out a couple of months after the X.

Also, Froyo is out today for the Nexus, but I doubt that HTC will be doing any 2.2 updates soon. Moto is really good about pushing the updates to their phones through verizon, HTC not so much.
