I asked this on another thread, but figure I'll ask here again.
If I were to play this, it's preferable to use the dolphin emulator on my computer, rather than playing it on my wii, right? Do the graphics really look that much nicer? >_>
Although being able to use a ps3 controller instead of the terrible classic controller (wouldnt be so bad if it didnt have to be connected to the wiimote, ugh) seems like a really huge plus just by itself.
Here's a project that is currently going on in the dolphin forums, basically a Xenoblade HD pack. Well worth checking out for everyone. http://forums.dolphin-emulator.com/s....php?tid=22102
That looks interesting. I'm not really planning on playing this anytime soon since I'm graduating in like a month, but I'll probably pick this up about 2-3 months from now, so I'll make sure to bookmark and check their progress whenever that happens.
One thing, I haven't really played the game and don't know the characters so I can't comment, but some of the portrait changes seem a little... excessive? I mean, I don't know if the extra detail is based on any kind of concept art or w/e, or if it's just something they came up with to make it look "better" >_>; not sure if that made any sense. Like, the guy who I believe is Reyn (lol), his face/hair looks a decent amount different, although that may just be me.
Bullshit
And oh god, that texture pack is beautiful.
Minimal difference? Only if happen to be blind. The difference is obvious and staggering. And yeah, HD texture pack looks amazing.
I really don't notice the graphics after getting into it, tbh. Yeah the textures are terrible but the wide open spaces and views still look great and the gameplay holds the game up on its own.
I just get lost in the game and ignore the graphics.
or, if you happen to still be using an SD TV and/or old shitty monitor, the graphics really can't be any different.
I'm the same way as Man0warr though; I'll notice the graphics at first, but it doesn't really bother me much. Plus, I'd rather not go through the hassle of getting everything setup with an emulator, when I could just insert game + play game.
I swear this Save the Worker story quest in Eryth sea is near impossible at 36.
Never mind. The next story fight after is a "go grind or get fucked" fight
I love this game. So many bullshit moments that causes you to think or try some weird strategy to see if it works
I have had more fun with this game than I have with any other RPG in a long time. At first the graphics make me think I'm on the PS/2 but the game play, storyline and MUSIC are awesome. They could have made tedious if it didn't have the instant travel and the ability to change the clock. With so many side quests (I haven't even visited colony 6 yet) that would have gotten old real quick. There doesn't seem to be a lot of missables either, at least so far. I love that. I can't believe they were not going to release this game here.
The quests that you can miss are marked by a clock on the quest log iirc. So you know if the quest you're looking at can expire.
I'm assuming ,based on what the hell happens at Prison Island, that this is the half way point? Stopped at Valak Mountains for now. Remember reading shit gets serious after Prison Island.
Yeah Prison Island is roughly the half way point from what everyones been saying.
I'm at Prison Island myself, and after doing every single sidequest in the game... I can honestly say I'm burned out for now. I might just skip most of the quests from here on out and just finish the game.
A man can only do so many fetch quests!
so, started this over on the actual wii since I can play that at my fiance's house and I'm hardly ever home to use my gaming pc. took a bit to get used to the gfx verses how it looks on dolphin, but it's not THAT bad. It's still totally playable and runs surprisingly smooth. The like 1 second lag when bringing up the map, etc is a little annoying, but not horrible. I'd forgotten how many quests there are though, holy fuck. must fetch all the things!
Fyi you can use your save from dolphin on a wii. Just right click the game in dolphin and export save file.
Tools->wii save import to get your save from the wii to dolphin, if you want to continue on dolphin later.
