it's not even a Xeno game anyway, just the name/developer are similar but apparently they are completely unrelated

In January 2010, the game was renamed to Xenoblade from 'Monado: Beginning of the World' to honor Tetsuya Takahashi, "who poured his soul into making this and who has been working on the Xeno series"
so basically "BUY OUR NON XENO XENO GAME XENOXENOXENOXENOXENO"

that being said I think I might d/l the japanese version to give it a try, yay

Looks like FF12, which was a fantastic game. I definitely want to try this.

A 3rd party game that doesnt suck on the wii? That's rare. >_>
There have been a number of good/great 3rd party games in the past year or so.

that's a ridiculous statement. "nobody should buy games based solely on review scores" might be a bit more sensible. I certainly use review scores as a barometer to judge how much I'll be interested in a game, on top of videos, screenshots, internet chatter and the comments in the reviews themselves.

I've been pretty impressed so far by the overall size of the game world, seems pretty huge. Draw distance is pretty impressive too, imo.

Hopefully they pin down a US release date during E3 but I'm not holding my breath lol

Well in light of the lack of any confirmation at E3 that this game was heading to NA shelves... the fact that it has taken the top spot for Wii Sales (beating out Mario Galaxy 2) at least makes me feel a bit better about it coming over.

    Nintendo likes money right?

funny, a friend of mine showed that the sales figure for xenoblade was more on the pathetic side

edit: guess it was a first day sales vs other xeno title overall sales

I think that's more a side-effect of Nintendo's new way of announcing games. They really only announce stuff that's releasing very soon, they don't start a hype train that will last a year, except for a couple of exceptions. IIRC, everything they showed at E3 other than Zelda and the 3DS is coming out before the end of this year, either that very very early next year. So not showing Xenoblade just means it won't be out this year. Which makes some sense, as Nintendo has a ton of stuff coming out near the end of this year, and Xenoblade would get lost in the mix.

I expect them to use the game to fill a gap in their 2011 release schedule.

    bumping for epic news!

    XENOBLADE CHRONICLES TO REACH EUROPE

Nintendo of Europe can confirm that it will be bringing the epic RPG, Xenoblade Chronicles to Europe for Wii. The title, already launched in Japan, brings to life a universe where two worlds called Bionis and Mechonis fight a war that knows no end.

Join the battle for Bionis to repel the invasion of a terrifying mechanical army and uncover the secrets of a mystical sword called the Monado.

Xenoblade Chronicles will be launching later this year for Wii featuring both English and Japanese voice-overs and will be fully subtitled in English, French, Italian, German and Spanish. Keep checking www.nintendo.dk for further information on this epic new adventure for Wii.
no word on a US release, but at least people with emulators/modded systems will be able to play in english now. Happy day!

If they don't have US release as well they are just asking for more hacked consoles... I know I would have a hard time not modding to play this game.

    Fucking stellar news though.

I am so hopeful that the NA release is officially announced soon. I will preorder it in a heartbeat. I am just over 5 hours into the Japanese version, and while I can read pretty much no Japanese, it is more emotionally engaging than a lot of games I have played in the last year. No lie. The first major battle in particular, can't wait for a US version. The battle mechanics and the different areas I have been to so far have been beautiful. Granted, playing a laptop is going to look better than my actual Wii will but still... love the game.

    A couple screenshots:
