Config problems in Win7

I am having trouble with the FFXI config. I am running windows 7 32 bit.

I have updated POL and FFXI, but when I open the FFXI config, I get this...



Any ideas why?

Also, POL and FFXI run VERY slow. I was trying to get into the config to lower some resolution settings, when I ran into the config trouble.

Help please.

Right click on the shortcut and pick "Run as administrator" would be the first thing I would try. Do the same when you actually try to run the game.

what you want is the overlay and background resolution

as for how slow things are running, what's your computer specs like?

I spy Aero Basic, I'm guessing Netbook?

Eh, can't judge by just that. I use aero basic too, just because glass makes my head hurt with the blurry transparent crap.

My friend runs Aero on his netbook with no issue. Aero basic looks so bad -- if I were to turn it off, I'd go with the Windows 2000 look, Window Classic.

OP, be sure you're running the right FFXIConfig. Don't use the one in C:\Program Files\PlayOnline\SquareEnix\FINAL FANTASY XI\Tools ,
make sure it's in \ToolsUS (or \ToolsEU , if applicable)

Also, make sure you aren't trying to run the game and the config at the same time.
