Because people don't work their +hp gear into their cure swap build, right? The more cure pot%+ they have, the more gear they'd have to carry around, whether it's -hp to take it down or +hp to bring up their max after.

Not too familiar w/Abyssea, is there some place to do augment fights or w/e? How did that guy obtain that hairpin?

When you kill mobs (Especially during XP PTs), mobs drop chests. Some of these chests contain items (Equipment and scrolls).

I see, would it be any mob that potentially drops the chest for that item or is the item value linked to the chain? I've seen some big chests and some small ones, didn't know if chain strength influenced.

Ask the Dragoon! I think it's linked to mob since most people get Adaman Helm with Cure potency/Regen/Spell interruption.

It's going to be completely fucking random unless the gear is by zone, as I feel like I've seen far too many Demon Rings come from Tahrongi for it to be a coincidence.
