Only just got Ultimate today, which will replace Blinding Horn likely. I like my Refresh.

What the derp? Blinding horn is the last thing you want to be replacing. Beyond and MM are both terrible, if you really need the refresh (you don't) then swap out beyond for ultimate.

BA+Mori/Ascetics will one shot the pull on Thundersday, if not Thermal Pulse will finish it. Very rarely does anything live past that. On non-day it takes Whisker+Pulse. 4~5k averages with BA up.

It's working for me at the moment, but that's what I was actually thinking. I'm not so good on how well the elemental atma work compared to straight up MAB. Ideal as I'm told would be Ultimate/Blinding Horn/Lion, but I lack the last at the moment and until I'm a little more confident on my burning I prefer to have the MP as needed. I know, I'm not the best BLU by far.

Why Loki's, out of curiosity? Teal has MAB+6/INT+6. Again I'm not a math person but I know the mods are 50% INT and DEX and also MAB mod. So how would Loki's win out mathematically? Same with teal legs (INT+5, MAB+3) versus Mavi+2 (DEX+8 ). Honestly I'm looking to improve my sets.

My understanding is under BA, INT and MAB are devalued and DEX will come out ahead. Also (loleyeballing) I ran with Morrigan's Robe/Teal Slops for a loooooooong time before swapping to Loki's/Teal then finally Loki's/Mavi and the final one seemed to bring my numbers up a decent amount from the first. That being said, my gear from Morrigan/Teal to Loki's/Mavi has changed a lot, but refer back to the first sentence why I have it the way it is.

Missing lion hurts, but it isn't the end of the world. Just don't go trading out the best of your 3 atmas is all. You can go ultimate+MM+BH until you are confident you can get blue boxes and not need the refresh, then swap MM for RR. And then finally swap it for lion when you get that. Burst affinity doubles the dex mod, so dex > int. MAB is still a big deal though, and lokis/mavi+2 vs teal/teal is pretty close, and I think you can make either one win depending on the rest of your gear.

Several points:
1. Replace Beyond with ultimate rather than Blinding Horn. You'll get much more utility by keeping Blinding Horn on especially since you're not using Lion (Which you should in the future).
2. The reason DEX comes out ahead is two-fold:
** You have *tons* of MAB when cleaving (20-24 from traits + 20ish in your current set up without teal + 20/25 from Mori/Ascetics + 50 from ultimate)
** During BA, you gain a 2-2.1x bonus to the post-alpha WSC portion of charged whisker

Honestly it's on anything that links/aggros and doesn't have a magic damage resistance. BLU is just an absolute beast at cleaving.

For Konschtat, I like pulling Tonberries (both kinds), but Liege can get annoying. The BLM ones don't stand at distance like normal BLM mobs, so cleaving them ain't no thang.

Leeches and Efts are also good targets, in that order. They're more spread out, though.

Alright, reasonable enough, but why wouldn't BA double the INT mod too, out of curiosity? INT and DEX are both mods of Charged Whisker, so wouldn't it get the doubling too? As for the others, I'll run some tests; now I'm really curious about this for improving my cleaving.

Working on Lion. D: 3/4 to a pop, I just gotta convince people to tag along without resorting to a shout because PUGs make me sad. Also I haven't a clue what you said on the post-alpha part. I'll just nod and do some tests based on the suggestions here. xD


That aside, thanks both for the suggestions. Definitely need to go back and do some testing rather than going with just the "acceptable" build. I'm only hitting 3.5k at best at the moment, but that's without Fantod boosts anyway.

The base damage of the formula for CW is (LV+2+(BA(Alpha(WSC%*YourStatHere)))) + dINT*TM. Notice that BA only affects the left portion of the addition.

Whisker has a dex mod, and is an int based spell. Int based meaning the extra stat bonus you get is based on your int vs your target's int. That part doesn't get doubled during BA, only the actual stat mod, which is just dex on whisker.
