Marduk Head was top smn skill piece until AF3, as were Legs, until Oracle came out (which offered the same amount of skill). Up until recently, I was using Skadi Hands for Exenterator (didnt have Thaumas, Myrmex/Athos didnt fall to me, and noone made Sthira Gloves on Carby), and they're still a very strong Exen piece for higher level targets.

Usukane was nice for MNK.
Body,feet for SAM

Ares - body,legs for DRK, fresh body for PLD

Skadi - Hands for RA, feet for movement

Morrigan - good overall at the time for BLM,RDM,BLU

Marduk - legs for BRD? refresh body

well you could say skadi was also godly for cor until AF+1 and Relic was implemented and considering what other options cor had.

I really hope they do a better job this time with Salvage gear. It would be such a wasted oppurtunity not to buff the hell out of that gear.

I played WHM WAR COR (DNC SCH after WotG release) back then, Salvage was mostly junk to me. 2 of the 5 jobs arent on the salvage gear and 2 of the remaining 3 gained little to no benefit from salvage gear. the exeption was COR that got the most out of Salvage gear. So yeah to me Salvage gear was mostly junk sadly

That doesn't change the fact that a broad sweeping comment saying most salvage gear was junk is incorrect. Most salvage gear was best for something for certain jobs. Even if you don't play those jobs, you should still appreciate that.

Ebody was best in slot, but I think he's trying to say that the hype for it was overrated because people thought that you sucked without having it. Sure it was great if you had it, but it wasn't going to make or break anything.

The strong point of e body is accuracy, who need accuracy ? It's safe to say that ares body was > ebody on 95% of the content. If not then askar was superior anyway. Then was also hachiryu but SE was dumb enough to make the PW retarded. Ares body was underrated due to people greatly overestimating 10 DEX and only swearing by accuracy (also most of the people's inability to finish one). pchan it seems like you just blend things out of your mind that dont fit your argument. Salvage was introduced pre 2hander update (check). noone said e.body was best (you started this argument); i didnt even mention askar; you didnt cap easy back then accuracy on HNMs if you didnt want to sacrifice alot of haste, E.body alowed to reach decent accuracy without even sacrificing much haste gear. the point was just: Salvage equipment was junk in general for most jobs ecxept the ones sporitng morrigan and usukane. only 1-2 pieces were good for some jobs.

Because Beastmaster could wear Ares's Body instead of Skadi. Gotcha. And also no, Askar body was fucking terrible if you wern't a DRG back then. Any SAM who wore Askar body but didn't have a relic was mocked to death for it. I'm not even sure where you're pulling up these fakeass numbers from. Level 75 content accuracy was still an issue for a lot of people and capped haste was a near impossible dream for anyone.

There's a reason Speed belt cost about half as much as a relic back then.

It makes me sad that you have a fully finished 99 Relic and still make stupidass comments like this.

For SAM's without usu feet you generally had to choose between Askar body + dusk gloves or haub + hachiman gloves.

Depending on the situation it was very much a viable option.
