only reason i downloaded it because i wanted to see how bad they butcherd it. Now im fuckin paranoid to torrent anything. Sad part is, in that same week i downloaded. Ironman 1&2,Legion, Nightmare, Afro Samurai. <_< and they flag me for fucking nightmare /rage.

They want us to go to theaters and watch movies but expect us to pay more then the movie is to own now? Fuck that.

Movies around here are 10$ a pop and that's enough to make me go once a month at most.

Why are we even correlating movie ticket prices and piracy? Unless we're talking about crappy bootleg copies of pre-DVD movies, then fine. But I imagine the bigger correlator would be in-store DVDs, not theaters.

When Im in NY and go see a movie, its usually with my younger siblings. I pack a lunch, go nice and early to the theater, pay full price and watch 3-4 movies. :D

Piracy goes beyond just burning copies from hollywood video for just the price of the rental.

Ticket prices are still 7-9 dollars a pop here, but it's still fucking stupid. Theaters always seemed like a bad idea when you have even halfway decent equipment at home. No children crying, kids kicking your seats, sticky CARPET (Seriously CARPET), projectors with the bulbs dimmed, audio with the volume turned to 11 and the sub turned off, etc, etc. I even hate going to the movies with friends because they always break my golden rule: Do not fucking talk during a movie, unless it's just epically bad.

All the cost and inconvenience makes it worth waiting until the DVD is released.

Less than half that where I live, I think $6.50 for matinees. We've also got a downtown theater that does 2nd run n' indie and that sort of thing that's about $5.

Still, that's either a decent chunk of the Blu-Ray when it comes out, or I'll just wait on the disc from Netflix since I'm paying for it either way.

While I don't torrent outside of anime, I still don't go to the theater all that often - usually only with friends. It's not that the ones here are that bad...but...my home setup is halfway decent, and I'm content enough with the scores of other movies in my Netflix queue/etc.

Fuck any movie over $15.. I think that's my limit. It has slowly risen from $7-8 to about $11 near me.
And I don't watch shitty cams, I find it funny how long i've been doing it and when I showed my uncle how to do, he got a C&D literally within a week.

$13.75 for IMAX-3D in my area, but granted I only reserve that for big-name titles that I know won't disappoint.

Otherwise, I'd just wait for the movie to actually come out on BluRay since it's just the price of I and my brother to go out and see it anyways after overpriced-food and taxes.

What likely happened was someone representing the distributor leeched the torrent, noted the IPs of sources of the pieces they were downloading, and sent the ISP a cease and desist letter which they then passed on to him.

People still download cam/TS? Just wait a couple months and download the BD-rip. Hell, it's cheaper nowadays to buy a nice display/projector and 5.1 system than to go to the movies a couple times a year.
