Let this be hope that even this generation of children are exposed to Teenage MUTANT Ninja Turtles before any of this alien bullshit may come out.
Nick is indeed making one. I believe it comes out in September.

Kinda eh on it TBH. I know this is going to be odd to say, but way too cartoony.

Been catching up on this and saw what was posted earlier:

..But please tell me it's a joke, right? I mean why not just name Casey Sam Witwicky and be done with it.

This last week we've had a few discussions about a leaked script for the Michael Bay-produced Teenage Mutant Ninja Turtles reboot. The script and the ideas in it were aboslutely horrific. You can see a full rundown of that script here if you want, so you can see for yourself just how bad it was. Thankfully that script has been scrapped.

Bay has now commented on the leaked script saying...

The leaked script that different sites continue to comment on was written well before I, or anyone at Platinum Dunes, was involved with the project. That script saw the shredder a long time ago. This is tired, old news -- wait for the movie!
The only issue with that statement is that the script that leaked had a date of 1/30/12 on it, which would be almost 2 years after Bay and Platinum Dune became involved with the project. Does he think we're stupid or something?

TMNT co-creator Peter Laird made another statement about the script as well saying,

I think the script that I read is so fundamentally flawed, and — more to the point — so NOT a Teenage Mutant Ninja Turtles movie, that trying to make piecemeal changes to it in an effort to make it into something halfway decent is probably a fool’s errand.

In my opinion, the thing should just be tossed out, deliberately forgotten, and the process of generating a new script really a new outline, then treatment, then script — should be started again. I have no insider knowledge of what’s going on with the movie, but from the bits and pieces that have slipped out, it seems like that may be exactly what is happening.

While we’re on the subject of this script… I have to say that while reading it, and especially reading the last twenty pages or so, I couldn’t help but think of the brouhaha which erupted a few months back when Michael Bay was heard to say that in the upcoming movie, the Turtles would be revealed to be “from an alien race”, and following that, all the mental gymnastics indulged in by people who wanted to parse his words and make it seem like “No, he didn’t REALLY say they were going to be ALIENS!”… and then this script makes it way out onto the Internet, and if it is legitimate, it’s painfully clear that YES, the Turtles WERE, in fact, going to be ALIENS.

Bay is a fucking retard. Just don't do the movie at all. It's obvious he can't handle it.

Remember when Bay tried to blame shittiness of Transformers 2 on writer strike and said T3 will be great...

I think I remember that and my friend saying Transformers 3 was pure crap. Going to be interesting to see what his excuse is when this next script fails hardcore.

It seems like Teenage Mutant Ninja Turtles co-creator Kevin Eastman is very excited about producer Michael Bay and director Jonathan Liebesman's take on Ninja Turtles even though we've been hearing a bunch of negative stuff about it. Of course there's the chance we'll be blown away, especially if what Eastman is saying is true. He's comparing the movie to The Avengers in terms of “scope and roots origin,” which sounds cool in theory. Only time will tell if that is what the movie will turn out like that though. Here's what Eastman had to say about Lisbesman's vision for the movie in a recent interview with NBC 5 Chicago,

Jonathan Liebesman is going to make a great film. From what I’ve seen of the script, it’s fantastic. Michael Bay has made some great and intense movies. We’re talking about being inspired by movies like ‘The Avengers’ for scope and roots origin and ‘The Raid: Redemption’ for fight scenes and ‘Rise for the Apes’ as far as computer-quality style.
I think it's interesting that Eastman is excited about it, yet the other co-creator of the franchise Peter Laird isn't happy with what he's seen and read from the film at all. I guess it all depends on who you trust more. Eastman also did an interview with The Examiner in which he addressed the fans of the franchise saying,

I like to answer this by basically telling the fans first and foremost not to worry, this will be a great TMNT film. Much like many thirty year old concepts, the TMNT’s have been re-invented a number of times, some were stronger than others, but if you look at what Viacom/Nickelodeon has done/allowed to happen with the new TMNT animated TV series, and the new IDW comic series, each has a slightly new and refreshed take on the 'core concept,' the new film will be the same, a film 'well placed' in the TMNT lore the fans will enjoy. If we learned nothing else from one of my favorite comic book based films, The Avengers, that there’s a lot to be said about never forgetting that core concept and core fan-base.

Nah, I've written off Eastman's opinion as being worth fuck-all.

I want Laird's take on this.

Hate you so damn much Bay
Actually, Eastman has been working on co-writing the new TMNT comic from IDW that came out last year.

I'm sure Eastman would not want to see TMNT get fucked up by Bay.

I'm not a fan of this aliens thing and I may never see this movie. Tough to swallow because I grew up with the turtles and loved almost all incarnations of the series (except the Live action TV show and TMNT 3 the movie).

Whoops I didn't see the post above about the differences between Laird and Eastmen. I'm pretty sure the differences come from the fact that Laird is no longer involved with TMNT but Eastmen is (IDW comics).

Megan Fox Back With Michael Bay For ‘Teenage Mutant Ninja Turtles’ Reboot

Looks like Michael Bay doesn’t hold a grudge. He’s just announced via his blog that Megan Fox will star in Teenage Mutant Ninja Turtles, the live-action/CGI feature from producer Bay, his Platinum Dunes and Paramount. Jonathan Liebesman is directing. This comes after Fox was most publicly dismissed from Bay’s Transformers threequel back in 2010 after the two clashed (Fox likened Bay to Hitler on set and called him “a nightmare to work for”, which set off a firestorm and led to her getting the boot). The TMNT reboot is dated for a May 16, 2014 release after it was pushed back to cut the budget to around $125M.
