Gotta admit though I do like the alien dig at the end of the trailer lol.

I'm getting the feeling that the original shredder still makes an appearance, but then the ninja foot swat team lead by Captain Asshole come and take his armor and style and use it to fight the turtles.
The turtles kind of have a decent, modern day script from seeing the trailers, but again dem design choices....idk.
My favorite part of the trailer is when whooping asks if they're aliens, and Megan says "no that's stupid". Nice save Bay lol.
omg this movie is gonna be amazing.
I don't know what you fucking nerds are crying about. nothing will ever live up to nostalgia. that's why its nostalgia
You genuinely believe these cg turtles look better then the original movie costumes?
so you're telling me you prefer the turtles of movies of your youth? there has got to be a word for that.. I'll think of it give me a few
Woe is you if you take anything Rhinox says seriously.
yeah man. keep fucking those chicken
Michael bay makes shit movies and forces people to spend hundreds of millions of dollars to watch them.
its exactly legit
I gotta agree, who cares about past looks? People cry about nostalgia being ruined all the time, but that's always a personal problem. Don't let it ruin it, and be open minded? Dumb mother fuckers
We are...fuck. I almost bit the bait again =(
I don't even have TMNT nostalgia and I think this looks pretty bad.
Yes, even without nostalgia they look weird/off somehow. I think it's the noses...and the teeth. And the weird muscular structure, ew.
It's not so much a nostalgic need for everything to be the same really. It's more observing that Bay has fixed something that wasn't broken and made it worse in doing so.
Why does it have to be nostalgia goggles and not that there's no faith in Bay's ability to do this franchise justice? I'll admit, I watch the old Turtles movies every few months (the first two at least), so I might not be the most fair judge. That said, I'm also not one to say "oh, I grew up with this, it's clearly the pinnacle of what this franchise will be and nothing else will ever come close." I also grew up with the old Turtles cartoon, but when something better came out (the 2003 series), I was more than willing to give it credit.
At the end of the day, Bay doesn't have a great track record for doing old franchises justice. Can he make entertaining action movies? Yes. Will this movie be an entertaining action movie? Probably. But will it do the Ninja Turtles justice? Bay has given me no reason to think it will.
The secret under cover inclusion of Bebop and Rocksteady will save this movie.
Watching Rhinox work over a thread can be a thing of beauty sometimes.
I imagine similar discussion went on about Transformers... cautious optimism, people hating it, and other saying it'll be awesome.
They suck, game over. I have no hope in Michael bay when it comes to making movies from old cartoons. I am choosing to use my brain and look at his recent work instead of oogling a trailer. He can make a mean trailer, a movie on the other hand? No, what he can do is make things appear awesome by cramming explosions and yelling, and whatever "hot topics" of today... TERRORISM, MILITARY, BOOBS. They make money, which is good for him, I can't blame him or making 4 more Transformers because the first one made huge money, and I can't blame him for butchering the Ninja Turtles next because its another nostalgic old cartoon he can turn into explosions and propaganda and still make fuckloads. He's using brand names to interest the people who go "Hey I remember those toys as a kid...", the ones who just barely remember the "Ninja Turtles" and "Transformers" TV shows as a kid, not the ones who watched it religiously for years and can still remember most/every detail. So those people who could care less about source material go see said movie, and its got BOOBS, EXPLOSIONS, ZOMG ERPTERMUS PREM and boom, idiots tell other idiots how awesome the explosions are and that "DUde, its got Optimist Prime"(Purposeful mispelling cause most people don't know his name just a vague memory of a cartoon with robots as a kid). While the (small) public of people who actually love the older shows and material will either vehemently hate it, or just "It was ok" (if its actually good, which I doubt).
Also, defending something old isn't always nostalgia. Sometimes one thing is simply better than other, take for instance, the Star Wars trilogy vs the prequels, claiming the old ones were better isn't nostalgia, its that the new ones were ass, plain and simpple. The old Ninja Turtles movies weren't exactly the pinnacle of movie making, but the costume designs for the turtles were great, not only for their time but for the accuracy... Generating a lot of money doesn't mean the movie is good, it just means it does enough to draw in the people who think explosions are plot and/or can turn off their brains while they watch something, or maybe just like being outside and a dark room with a movie in the background is the closest they can get to their basement when being outisde.
I'm simply not impressed by a dubstep trailer, especially considering his recent incursions to childhood cartoons. I'll wait for the reviews (though I'll have to wade through the hardcore fans shitting on it to find an objective one), and even then I'll still be cautious. His other movies are money making machine, but good films they are not. They're good for what they're suppose to do, pander to just the right size of crowd, and I can't really hate Michael for playing the Hollywood game, because just like the gaming industry (hurhur hot topic here), Hollywood doesn't like taking risks, which is why the last 10-20 years or so have been almost nothing but remakes, reboots, and "reimaginings" of older movies and 80's cartoons/nostalgia.
Fucking Battleship.
