I'm pretty sure Kraken Club beats the OAT Club from Trial of the Magians as an offhand club just by glancing at both side by side, but I'm wondering just by how much exactly? Is it a really huge gap?

Goedendag - DMG49, Delay340, Occasionally Attacks Twice (40%~)

Kraken Club - DMG11, Delay264, Occasionally Attacks 2~8 Times

And also, if Goedendag received Occasionally Attacks 2~3 Times, would there still be a contest?

beat in what way? overall dmg? melee dmg?

Most of Kclub's dmg comes from the additional weaponskills it generates.

Not really. Kraken Club's actual damage output is hardly insignificant.

11 DMG weapon, average of 4.5 swings/round. 49.5 DMG 264 delay, in that case.

D49 340 dly and 40% DA (so 68.6 dmg)

the difference in dmg is going to come from the increased WS frequency, hence my original comment.

For Penta on SAM, Usu feet or Rutters? If it matters my WS set is:

Enget/Pole/-/Tiphia
Wyvern Helm/Love Torque/Brutal/Fowling Earring
Haub/O. Kotes/Ruby Ring/Rajas
Amemet+1/Warwolf/Byakko's/?

Working on getting Dark Gorget, HQ stuff, waiting on 25s for Usu legs, and will do Apoc Nigh after update when I can get my slivers in the laziest possible way. Actually that raises another question, does Warwolf beat Fierce Belt (15 att)? As for my head, I don't have d. head and I can't find anything else to use, any suggestions are welcome.

Remember KC gets a much larger boost from fSTR than ToM club would. People do tend to underestimate KCs DoT on lower end mobs (VT and lower).

People often make the mistake of assuming monster stats increase nonlinearly, and somehow level 80 monsters have a lot more VIT than we'd expect following from a level 75 monster. It's just not true.

Level 63 Lesser Colibri have 52 VIT and AGI.
Level 82 Greater Colibri have 67 VIT and AGI.

That's a ~4 difference in fSTR between something any job can solo and a merit mob. If there's only a 4 fSTR difference between an IT and EP mob, how is K-club going to suddenly be good on VT mobs but suck on IT mobs?

i'll leave it to others to give a proper critique on your gear (tho it looks pretty good). the one thing i did notice is that if your job distribution suits it, a MKD hat will be a big improvement.

as for usu feet vs. rutters, it depends on whether you're trying to 5-hit your polearm. if you are, and are looking for a true 5-hit, keep the usu feet (and add rose strap) and you can ws in okote. if you're not and your acc is ok, then rutters.

for SAM penta thrust:

Assuming accuracy is capped or close to cap in both situations
Warwolf Belt (5 STR 5 DEX) + Byakko's Haidate (15 dex)
vs
Potent Belt (3 str +8acc) + Hachiryu Haidate (10 Str 5 attack)

Basically trying to decide whether or not using hachiryu pants in my penta set is viable. Any other suggestions accepted :D

So I totally forgot that OAT Kurodachi has 464 delay.

That means with Store TP 5/5, you'd only need a whopping 2 Store TP to reach 6 hit with it.

Sword Strap (Down to 450 Delay) + 11 STP
VS
Pole Grip + 2 STP

I have a feeling Sword Strap is gonna be better, but I figured I'd make sure since my math is not really so great with this stuff. Thanks very much!
