Nah, you aren't wrong. DRK doesn't have a crit WS. You'll be WSing in hauby+1 anyways, better to keep it around. Its 1% less haste than the normal homam+turban set, and more acc than it. So if you get the full set, it'd be better assuming you don't have access to ace's hose, dusk gloves +1, or the new 4% haste gloves that came out.

There does not seem to be a compelling situation where you want to minimize your normal DA rate (10% minimum) in favor of other options (what would you actually replace Brutal Earring, Pole Grip, and 5/5 DA merits with?), so a 7-hit Ukonsavara is better than the 6-hit, 80-DMG, OAT Kunlun, this provided that the "mechanics" of Magian OAT were not changed (40% OAT rate, same interaction with normal DA).

Toss on Rose and ecphoria? Normal 6-hit?

    13*1.26=16.3
    13*1.25=16.2 no ecph in ws
16.3*5 + 16.2 + 2.4 = 100.1 tp (approx 93% of the time when you stack the odds of two misses of additional hits against the odds of da)

this is assuming no 5stp belt is ever found.

I was contemplating why he arrived at his conclusion, and one possible way is to think that a given quantity of DA benefits both equally, but (generally) it doesn't. At the minimum baseline DA rate (10%), the 6-hit OAT is more efficient than the 7-hit Empyrean, but given "typical" conditions for WAR (having a Brutal Earring and 4 or 5 DA merits), the 7-hit is more efficient all else being equal. Yes, as you showed, making appropriate trade-offs to achieve a 6-hit makes it even more efficient.

Trying to figure out what's best for my lolBST TP gear.

    3 Haste or 10 tp/swing on a 1 handed weapon as opposed to 9.

I'm sure there's some math here to be done related to the amount of extra swings 3 more haste would give compared the extra 1 TP gained per swing to allow me to Rampage more often. I'm just not exactly sure which calculations to do(not good with maths sorry).

    Thanks for any help.

Sounds like Byakko pants vs Skadi pants to me, in which case Byakko by a mile.

If it isnt Byakko/skadi the 3% haste is still going to be the winner in most cases.

Well, you say that. going form 9>10TP goes from 12 to 10 hits /100, although you haven't said your exact TP, if you're getting 9.1TP/hit or more then it's only 11 > 10 hits /100.
    That's either a 20% or 10% increase to WS frequency, what's a bst, like 60/40 TP/WS split?

That's either 4% or 8% increase total. Let's say 4% (the most likely), if you're solo you wont have haste or march, so you'll be stuck at 16% with the 2% legs (assuming turban/swift/dusk/dusk in other slots), going from 16 to 18% haste is a 3.7% increase.

So actually, solo, the skadi option are better. (Didn't concider acc from either, you should be capped solo)
In a party, with buffs, haiadate is better.

Sorry I guess I should have been more specific.
It's more a comparison between my current gear and the new Abyssea sets.
In my current gear I have +14% Haste, with Aurore or Perle I would improve that to 17% Haste.
Doing that would however make my 10TP/swing setup impossible by reducing my Store TP from +24 to +12.

    for pld atonement spam:
    Magian sword OAThrice 264delay
    or
    Joytoy (224 delay)

Which would end up being faster to 100tp?

Would assume the 2-3 times, however it depends if they may have changed the proc rate on those (I severely doubt they did though)?

Wouldn't you risk hitting for 0 a lot during bigger fights? on my pld i hit for 0 quite often with pizza + fort torque + 8sword merits + a decent TPing build on sky/sea stuff.

Edit: for the OaThrice weapons, if it is better than a Joyeuse, would i have to just kill the 3250 monsters to get it, or are there any gathering of VNM items like Ruthven's Nails? From the wiki, it shows 400 birds, 300 clusters, 500 vermin, 600 demons, 400 rafflesia, 600 arcana, then 450 wamoura for the Occ. Atk. 2-3 times Khanda.

I was assuming that too, but the 40delay difference threw me off. OAThrice can hit more times per round, but the joytoy will get more rounds off in an equal amount of time. I'm just trying to find a reason to not have to do the god awful boring magian trial =(.

From what I understand, DMG rating doesn't affect hitting for 0 on bigger fights, it's a result of your ATT being too low comparatively.

Oh, must be my macros malfunctioning (hi2u bmn) and not equipping the correct TPing gear because I often hit for 0 on sky triggers, etc.

Also, if thats the case, back to the original question, the new 2-3 sword vs joyeuse.

Despite misleading comments made by myself and others, your base damage most certainly has an affect on you hitting something for 0, its just that your attack is generally what you want to adjust when it comes to fixing this problem, not your weapon.

    Almace/OAT or Almace/OAThrice?

    EDIT: inb4 STR sword is better mainhand for BLU. Glancing it at, that does seem like it could be the case, but given that Almace is supposed to be an ultimate weapon, it may get better upgrades in the future. Plus it looks neat >_>;

Need data on the hit distribution before we can say anything conclusive, unfortunately.

Assuming most likely scenario of 30/50/20, I got this math:

    Joyeuse (w/ Brutal Earring)

    224 / 60 = 3.733 sec/round
    60 / 3.733 = 16.07 round/minute
    45% + Brutal Earring (5% of 55 single swings) = 1.478 swings/round

    1.478 swings/round x 16.07 round/minute = 23.75 swings/minute

Khonda (Not sure if Brutal worth it here but its effect would be minimal either way)

    264 / 60 = 4.444 sec/round
    60 / 4.444 = 13.50 round/minute
    50% dbl + 20% tripl = 1.900 swings/round

    1.900 swings/round x 13.50 round/minute = 25.65 swings/minute

An extra 1.9 swings every minute hardly seems worth it for -10 base damage, especially if you just end up hitting for 2 extra 0s every minute (PLD/HNM) as a result (however I've heard it's atk that affects your 0 hit count more so maybe not?)...

Edit: That math was with 0% haste, with 45% haste Khonda pulls ahead a little more:

    Joyeuse with 45% haste = 123.2 delay = 2.053 sec/round
    1.478 swings/round x 29.22 round/minute = 43.10 swings/minute

    Khonda with 45% haste = 145.2 delay = 2.420 sec/round
    1.900 swings/round x 24.79 round/minute = 47.10 swings/minute

So +4 swings a minute... still not sure if it's worth the time it takes to get it considering the -10 base damage, someone else may know.

Nevermind all this, higher delay = more TP/swing I didn't take that into account at all... (I'm dumb!).
