You're completely ignoring the fact that SE DID have those JA and spells at full power when they came out but nerfed them because they were too powerful to the point where the main job was ignored.

No, I didn't ignore that actually... I didn't know that. Point being is, they did nerf them. I can picture them nerfing Convert too to an extent. Why do I say this? I've seeked merits as WHM/SCH before, and in a good amount of cases where I've actually gotten invites, I was requested to job change to Red Mage, and it was because of Convert so I 'wouldn't have to rest'.. I don't merit anymore nowadays (capped until SCH75, etc), but back then that's what I dealt with.

6 hit. no point droping a hit when you double attack so often ( mathed in magian thread: 5 hit is 5% ish inferior to 6 hit, due to high multiattack rate and low haste).

I know there was some math earlier about Champion's Galea (STR+4 WS dmg+2%) vs. maat's cap for y/g/k that the Galea wins. Has anyone figured out if Nocturnus helm will be better vs. Galea for y/g/k? Also what about Kaiten?

There was math for Kaiten regarding MKD helm vs Orc helm back when the expansion came out, and I recall Orc helm edging it out. Seeing as Nocturnus is an upgrade to Orc helm, it would follow that Nocturnus is even better for Kaiten.

For Y/G/K, mdkuser posted maths about Nocturnus last thread, where I think it wins with capped acc on potential double attacks. However that likely isn't the case, depending on the target you're fighting, given all the accuracy that gets macroed out of Y/G/K sets.

Darksteel will provide you slightly better PDT when using Tacos and a bit more protection from a triple crit hit from Byakko.
