Just came back from a many-month break. My THF used to sport Blau/Sirocco and Enkidu body for general TPing. With these new Magian daggers, is there a better combo of daggers that can allow me to wear Rapparee instead of Enkidu and still do more damage? If it's possible to dual wield two of the DEX+6, Acc+12 daggers, would that work well with Rapparee?

At the moment, my LS doesn't have the numbers for VNM, so the OAT high-damage dagger is out of the question.

As far as not having the numbers to do VNM... all T3s can be done with 6 or less so you should be fine unless its like some 3 person social LS.

There's usually only 2 or 3 people in the LS at any given time unfortunately.

Let's make this simple. Following weapon can either 5-hit or 6-hit. Different people have to lose something different to make it 5-hit.

    http://farm5.static.flickr.com/4123/...e0835c88_o.png

    Is a 5-hit worth losing

    [version A]
3% Haste, 4 Accuracy, 4 Attack, 4% DA during TP
    and 4 Accuracy, 4 Attack, 2% DA, 7 STR during Y/G/K?

    worth losing

    [version B]
3% Haste, 4% DA during TP
    and 2% DA, 7 STR during Y/G/K?

    worth losing

    [version C]
6% Haste, 2% DA during TP
    and 5 STR during Y/G/K?

In each case the person is starting with 24% gear haste. Thanks.

Does the Perle Aurore and Teal set bonuses work like salvage set bonuses where it's all or nothing, or like the allied notes sets where you get slight increases for each piece you equip?

Currently I only had enough points to get perle gloves, tomorrow or the next day I might be able to get the boots and test myself, but for now I am unable to. The easiest way I can think to test would be to get a few pieces of the perle set and cast some spells and see if having more then 1 piece gives extra haste.

If you had to chose between the two which would be the better?

Wondering if that Store TP+6 will make anything available.

(Originally posted in Random Q figured this was a better place .-.)

Asking on someone's behalf because I know next to nothing about BLM, but how do the Teal Saio and Teal Slops stack up against Weskit + Mahatma Slops? I'd assume just from a glance and observational math that the Teal Slops would beat the Mahatma pants for most applications, but the Saio vs. Weskit I'll admit I'm a little stumped on. I imagine the Weskit would still win if it had something like an INT+5 or 6 augment on it.

Quick glance, teal legs look better than mahatma because 3macc/mab > 3int.

Teal body looks more ambiguous since you have 6 int competing against 2 MAB (from NQ weskit), so at least on tier III and lower teal would be giving you more damage, potentially more on tier IV. Of course you can augment weskit and any int on it would make it superior.

irrc the inflection point for tier IVs can be found with heca cape where 3 mab out does 5 int (though I think the differences are in the single digits).

Teal legs would edge out Morrigan's at least on higher tiers, no?

Before we continue my fiancee too far down the path, which of these would be better for a DNC:

At the moment, the second one is much better for a DNC offhand, assuming it follows the 30/50/20 distribution we expect of Occasionally Attacks 2-3 times weapons.

I posted it in the wrong thread, but here's my opinion on DNC daggers at the moment:

    PUP and possibly MNK questions:

    a) Faith torque vs. the new PUP necklace with Accuracy +5 and Enhances Martial Arts effect?

    b) Swift Belt (or the other haste belts) vs. the new PUP/MNK belt that also Enhances Martial Arts effect?

If "Enhances Martial Arts" is at all potent (a full level is delay -20) then it'll be better than Faith Torque. Swift vs. Enhances Martial Arts is harder.

360 delay from Martial Arts III, -20 from the neck is 340. Assuming you're solo with no Haste buffs and are already wearing the neck, they'll be about the same or the Martial Arts belt will be slightly better than 4% Haste. If you get Haste buffs, the Martial arts belt is worse.

For pure DPS calculations, you can do:
    (H2H Delay + Weapon Delay - #Martial Arts enhancement*20)*(1-Haste%) >=< (H2H Delay + Weapon Delay - #Martial Arts Enhancement*20)*(1-Haste%-Belt%)

    So it'd be:
    (360+49-2*20)*(1 - idk, 15%?) >=< (360+49-1*20)*(1- 19%?)
    369*.85 = 389*.81
313 < 315, so it's slightly better for DoT to use Martial Arts Enhancement over 4% Haste with no Haste buffs. It's possible that TP gain would be affected by the change in delays, so the higher delay option (Swift belt) may actually get TP faster. It's honestly probably negligible even for monks though.

    (360+49-2*20)*(1 - 15% gear - 35% magic) >=< (360+49-1*20)*(1- 19% gear - 35% magic)
184 > 179, so Swift belt is better both in terms of TP gain and DPS.

If it's really close though, the +3% Puppet Haste on the belt will probably tip things in its favor.

The plan I was shooting for was the DEX/ACC Dagger and the OAT Dagger and using Acuben's for max haste (which leads to a different question I don't think was answered in RQ thread). Now that the OA2-3 dagger has been introduced, I was thinking DEX/ACC and OA2-3. Your opinion? (She doesn't have Fan/Saber Dance merits if that matters at all)

Silly question about a body for DRK nukes (lol)

Corselet (MACC/MAB+6) vs Relic (MAB+10) vs Crimson Scale Mail (INT+10)

Targets are typical Dynamis mobs that are using PD/Invincible or something I wouldn't otherwise melee.

Before factoring body relevant stats at 80 would be capped Elemental with full merits & torque (304), INT68+35, Magic Accuracy+10, MAB+5

    Well, hmm...

So here is what I see for DNC Haste I think, assuming these are obtainable in a reasonable amount of time:
    Head: Accumbens (Acc-10, Haste+6%), Turban (Haste+5%), or Brisk Mask (Haste+4%, 6Acc/Atk, 4 STP)
Neck: Terciel Necklace (Haste+1%, 5 Subtle Blow), DNC Necklace (Enhances DW, 5 Subtle Blow)
Earrings: Wyvern (5% if you sub DRG)
    Body: Rapparee Harness (4%)
    Hands: Dusk Gloves +1 (4%), Ocelot Gloves (4 DEX/8AGI, 3% Haste, 3 Enmity)
Waist: Bullwhip belt (7% Haste), V-belt (6% Haste), STP belt (5% Haste, 5 STP), Swift (4% Haste, 3 Acc, -5 Attack)
    Legs: Ocelot Trousers (4% Haste, 6 Acc, 10 Eva, 6 Enmity), Aurore Brais (9 Acc, 3% Haste), AF2 (3% Haste, 3 STR)
    Feet: Dusk Ledelsens +1 (3% Haste, 5 Attack), Aurore Gaiters (5 Dex, 5 Eva, 2% Haste), Setanta's Ledelsens (4 DEX, 3 Acc, 2% Haste?)

Doing this from memory, some of those might not be entirely right but that's the general list. If you're aiming for maximum TP gain while maximizing Accuracy, an ideal set imop would be:
    Head: Brisk Mask
    Neck: AF3 necklace
    Body: Rapparee
    Hands: Dusk +1
    Waist: STP belt
    Legs: Ocelot Trousers
    Feet: Dusk +1
    4+4+4+5+4+3 = 24%, 9 STP

    Realistic -
    Head: Turban (5%)
    Neck: AF3 necklace/Accuracy
    Body: Rapparee
    Hands: Ocelot or Dusk NQ
    Waist: Swift
    Legs: Aurore Brais
    Feet: Aurore Gaiters
    21% Haste, 0 STP

I see Accumbens as a move that I'd only make if I was desperate and willing to sacrifice a lot of damage for increased TP gain (losing that much Acc seems like it'd make you switch Pizza -> Sushi). I suspect with an OA2-3 offhand you will not be in situations where you need to make that sacrifice very often, if ever. I definitely approve of getting the Acc dagger as a situational weapon, but the STP dagger is easy to complete and generally follows the 2-3 path. It will do more for your TP gain than main-handing the DEX dagger and trading Turban for Accumbens.

Swift belt is 5 delay faster than shaolin belt, slightly under a tenth (0.83) of a second.

Net change: 3 acc -5 delay vs 13 atk 3% puppet haste
Seems pretty strong that shaolin belt wins anytime you have a puppet. That attack alone is also going to be around +3% base for an 80 PUP pre-buffs.

Rolling in about 50% total haste gear, the JSE MA neck piece is closer to a 5% haste increase at the cost of 1.3 accuracy, 7 attack, and 1 base damage (at least at 80). Given PUP now has a base damage of 36 with a 27 damage weapon, that added base damage from faith torque is about a 1.6%, less if you have any fstr. So MA neck piece also looks optimal.

Also the attack is a nice bonus. Pup can really use attack when it can get it. 13 attack is nothing to scoff at.
