So im sure there has been /DNC vs /NIN talk somewhere, but I havent bothered looking, so anyway.

In cases where utsu doesnt matter obviously, or not as much, would DNC be the better sub? Im thinking like BST,DRK,SAM,WAR,MNK,whatever who sub /NIN currently for XP purposes, nyzul, salvage, etc, things where it doesnt matter too too much if you get hit a few times. Yeah yeah, lol WAR/NIN in XP, whatever, humor me.

/40DNC: Evasion+10, DW 15%, Resist Slow, Subtle Blow 5%, ACC+10, Sambas, Waltzs, Steps, Flourishes, Jigs.
/40NIN: Stelth, DW 15%, Resist Bind, Subtle Blow 10%, Utsu, Tonko, Monomi, and a bunch of other spells no one uses.

I cant see a reason why people wont start using /DNC instead. Am I missing anything?

Is this the best gun for a cor using detonator? Or is one of the other new ones going to be better?

+7 dmg and +8 dmg Mantis or destroyers? Just upgrading to the turkey fists eventually and wondering if I should use these for now.

Seph, /DNC is the best offensive sub til /NIN gets DWIII at 90, the only determining factor is if shadows are necessary for survival or if you can offset your sponging enough with kill speed from steps and desperate flourish, drain samba II (for everyone), and then potentially waltzes (note: might not be worth your TP if your mage is supported).

Of course once you get to 90 you will also be able to haste samba (35% TP), which easily seems to be worth it.

Two things to note about reverse flourish. Even though it recoups the TP spent, it still consumes time you could have been attacking (ie still negative TP gain), however, you can also use it to counteract overshooting TP, which is realistic for BST since you will likely be using at least one OAT (if not two).

Asuran under footwork is modified by weapon dmg and not kicks correct? Assuming OAThrice (0dmg) h2h + FW, Asuran or Tornado/DK spam?

Well, haven't gotten to use it on any mobs that matter yet but on these weaker mobs for trial of magians, footwork tornado demolishes destroyers asurans. As for dragon kick, may as well erase it as a ws, no longer relevant.

    considering this move atm:

    Perle Moufles - STR +4, DEX +2, ATK +10 Haste 2%

    vs.

NQ Dusk Gloves - Haste 3%, ATK +5.

    SAM and WAR jobs.

    Additionally -

Teal Saio for BRD? All I've got ATM for BRD is Osode and Minstrel's Coat, and the MACC is making me hot for the Saio.

I have no idea why every time a new low haste item is introduced with some extra stat on it, people immediately start trying to ditch haste gear.

Stick to Dusk for the same reason you don't wear Askar hands or head.

Friend is a DRG, doesn't have access to homam and currently uses

    Walh.
    Thrakon
    Dusk H
    Perle Legs
    Dusk Feet

Now, above she has 12% Haste and misc. stats, what im wondering is Would it be better for her (Since she cannot get homam for her DRG) to get the entire Perle Set? the Perle set would put her at 13% Haste with the Set Bonus instead of 12 where she stands now.

So in the situation of the above set up vs. full Perle, which would be better for her?

Full Perle, comfortably. Looking at the set as a whole it is very good for DRGs without Dusk Gloves+1 (and even then... over the standard Turban/(body)/Homam x3 set, you get +str/atk (amount varies depending on which body is used) and +/- acc also depending on which body you use). Normally this is a 1% Haste loss but worth it a lot of the time.

So in the situation of the above set up vs. full Perle, which would be better for her?
    First set has:
    5% Haste
    3 Str, 3 Dex, 7 Acc, 7 Att
    3% Haste, 5 attack
    2% Haste, 5 Dex, 10 Acc
    2% Haste, 4 attack
    = 12% Haste, 3 Str, 8 Dex, 17 acc, 16 attack

    Perle has:
    2% Haste, 5 Str, 7 attack
    8 Str, 4 Dex, 8 Acc, 8 Att, Crit +2%
    2% Haste, 4 Str, 2 Dex, 10 Attack
    2% Haste, 5 Dex, 10 Acc
    2% Haste, 5 Str, 3 Dex
    = 13% Haste, 22 Str, 14 Dex, 18 Acc, 25 Attack

So you're asking whether 1% Haste, 18 Str, 6 Dex, 1 Acc, 9 Attack and crit +2% beats decreased movement speed? Yes, Perle wins. It's a solid set for DRG. Won't beat setups with Homam x 3 + decent body piece, or anything involving Nocturnus Mail, but should come out on top of just about everything else for DRG, depending on your Store TP needs.

Assuming CHR works like other magic stats, Teal Saio would at worst be equal to Osode and at best +2 M.Acc. over Osode (where it counts, I might add).

I imagine the Weskit would still win if it had something like an INT+5 or 6 augment on it.
As for Teal Slops, it should beat out Mahatma Slops on virtually every tier, except for possibly Tier I depending on the total amount of MAB. I think it would beat even Morrigan's Slops (incomplete set) for Tier III and above. I think Teal Saio would trump Weskit for Tier IV and below (maybe V, I'm not sure), unless the Weskit is very well augmented (INT +4 or +5 or an augmented INT+ HQ Weskit). That's a little more speculative though. It depends on the MAB in other slots.

Searched, didn't find anything: apology if it was asked and answered before.

Is Perle Hauberk any good for SAM TP? Downgrade, upgrade (doubt) or sidegrade over hauby +1?

I just want to replace my TP body for SAM, really hate the hauby +1 after so long. No nocturnus, no usu or other fancy bodies so far, only got askar (lol), hauby +1 and osode (but I only use it for WS).

Kinda hoping Perle is at least sidegrade, but it doesn't seem like it. Opinions?

(I'm sorry if this was asked in the magian thread)

I'm considering upgrading a polearm for Drg while working on Rhongomiant, and am curious which is better:

    Langdebeve
    DMG: 98 STR +6 ATT +15 Delay 480

    or

    Oatthkeeper
    DMG: 101 Delay 492

    Currently using Fay Lance with:

    DMG: 94 STR +2 DEX +3

They're both a lot better than your Fay Lance, and Langdebeve looks better than Oathkeeper to me assuming you use equal gear to make them 6-hit.

    Langdebeve - D99-100 with fSTR, 480 delay, Atk+19-20 (I'm assuming your Att+75 was a typo for 15?)
    Oathkeeper - D101, 492 Delay

    20 Attack, 3% delay > 1-2 base damage (less during WS) fo'sho.

iirc, both sets would want to use Blitz/Rose strap/Perle Hauberk set/V-belt/new throwing items/back-of-choice. With that setup, Langdebeve cannot handle missing any additional hits on Drakes unless you WS in Aurum body, while Oathkeeper can handle missing two.

Yeah, that was a typo, fixed for clarity.

Thanks for the info, it's much appreciated.

    I'm not so sure...
    Compare:
    Turban/Aurum/Homam x3 vs Full Perle:
    14Str, 9-10 Acc, 12-13 Att, Crit+2%

1% Haste is gonna be 2.85% increase going from 19%>20% gear haste + hasso + 2 march + spell (65>66%). If you need at least 6 of the 9-10Acc to cap, then it wins befor you look at the str/att/crit.

If you're acc capped, And have say 80Str, 500 Att in the Homam set with a D98 Lance (That Lv90 STP+8 magian one for example), the Str gives you either 3 or 4 DMG, for 2.5% or 3.4% increases. The attack against a 350def mob (Something stronger than colibri/mamools, with dia) say 7 lvls above you will give about a 3.2% increase through cratio. That's 5.7 or 6.6 increase to TP phase damage (40% of total).
Total: Giving 3fStr, around 2.3% increase, giving 4 fStr, 2.6%. That's befor the 2% Crit, because I don't know how to calulate increases in DoT through crit hit increase. But if the +DoT through 2% Crit+ is over 0.5% increase to total DoT, then the set breaks even with Homam set.

So basically, uncapped acc, perle wins confortably. Capped acc, they're about even

Edit: This ignores needing the STP from aurum of course, but the lance I used for the comparison covers STP needs for a 6hit anyway.

While on the subject of DRG WS (drakes, wheeling, and to some extent sonic): Nhead vs Nocturnus vs some of the newer stuff.

I'm not sure if this was posted earlier in this thread, I went back 5 pages and only saw one post.

Keitonotachi is better than Hagun. I'm assuming it is. However, in this fantastic new world of cheap Haguns, should I just be rid of mine now to make some money off of it, and use a partially upgaded Masamune (I have 2 Urd kills left) until I get to 80 (I'm at 77)?
