It's more or less even with Corsair's frac +1 should beat almost everything else short of a r.acc r.att mirke (idk if there were any other notable cor body pieces for slug added by the last update) as long as you can make use of the r.acc. All in all the doublet is a pretty solid piece for cor. For comparison the only other options for cor slug I can think of are NQ Frac, Pahluwan body or denali jacket if you don't need any r.acc.

Francisco, an easy rule of thumb is just to figure out how many connected hits you'll have within a certain amount of time.

The equation is a combination of your attack speed and your hit rate:
1/(1 - gear haste - magic haste - JA haste)*hit rate= 0.05~4.75

Let's start with an extreme example,
Case A you have 0% haste and 80% hit rate => 1/(1-0)*0.8=0.8
Case B you have 50% haste and 50% hit rate => 1/(1-0.5)*0.5=1

It might help if you think about the above within a certain interval of time, say 6 second delay in a minute. In Case A you would swing 10 times, but miss twice netting 8 connected hits. In Case B you swing 20 times, but only connect 10 times, however, Case B is still better.



Now let's look at your example of Case A 90% hit rate with 13% haste and with Case B 75% hit rate with 25% haste.

In campaign, farming, etc you won't have any other sources of haste, so you're limited to your gear:
Case A 1/(1-0.13)*0.90=1.03
Case B 1/(1-0.25)*0.75=1

Of course, in this case you are sad and alone in a tedious event. In a decent merit party you will have haste (spell), marches, and/or haste samba

Haste (spell)
Case A 1/(1-0.13-0.15)*0.90=1.25
Case B 1/(1-0.25-0.15)*0.75=1.25

Haste+marches
Case A 1/(1-0.13-0.35)*0.90=1.73
Case B 1/(1-0.25-0.35)*0.75=1.88

So even in a pretty extreme comparison of 12% haste versus 30 accuracy, haste matches or surpasses accuracy in any group event.

I know "stuff is situational" and it depends greatly on the other gear you have, but in GENERAL terms, what are considered the best bodies, by rank, to melee and which ones to WS as SAM?

I am thinking about hauby +1, hauby NQ, nocturnus mail, askar korazin (), perle hauberk, pandy body (forgot name), usu body, kirin's osode, etc.

How would they rank up? And most importantly, what are the other choices not listed?

Between the two, sword. If you're acc capped without Usu feet, Fuma + Pole will be better than either combination.

That gkatana's stp + rajas + full merits + brutal + sword strap (bringing it to 450) is a 6 hit. Using rose strap with a 464 delay is basically just slowing you down.

Based on the above then, if i switch out hauby / dusk etc for perle and switch ecphoria ring / rose strap, would this be better than a possible 5 hit setup? assuming i can get it with hachiman legs+feet+hands+askar body + w/e needed?

Sword. In general the differences in gear aren't going to matter. 3% reduction in swing speed is going to beat 2% double attack if you can maintain a 6-hit build.

I'm happy to be proven wrong but I'm in a quandary about Teal Slops myself so I'd like to see what peeps post. If you have elemental merits and the mob isn't resistant I'm assuming the teal slops will win. But if you're getting resists then relic/mahatma might be a better choice?

I've just completed Morrigan's... but until now had stuck tons of int elsewhere and gone with duelist pants for RDM. I don't get resisted that way (8/8 ele, 5/5 INT merits). I'm probably over cautious on that but I get more consistent results that way.

Teal Saio is a slight upgrade to the Redingote, I'd nuke in that - that's what I've grabbed the body for. I'll use it on SCH, RDM and BLM for nuking for now.
