Thought so, thank you - just had the feeling at 6am that I was missing something, so wanted confirmation.
For Capped Acc, Zahak's Mail.
For the Magian Dagger, concerning the ones that are "Occasionally Attacks X Times"...
Just how much better is the OA2~3T VS the OAT?
DMG 20, OA2~3 Times.
VS
DMG 32, OAT.
And in the next updates, when they increase these further... just how much more DMG will the OAT one need to beat the OA2~3 times one?
Hell if OA2~3 times becomes 2~4 times though, I'm pretty sure it'll be no contest... unless the OAT becomes OA2~3?
A little bit of wondering there, sorry.
Haven't really been keeping up with magian weapons so, are the occasionally attacks twice, or 2-3 times magian weapons better then destroyers for monk?
2-3 times w/ footwork and occ attack twice dmg+ both beat destroyers by a rather fair margin.
Hell, even the eva+ agi+ tapian fangs beat destroyers.
I am pretty sure that the Varangian helm beats out the champion's galea with the 4 str +2% ws dmg increase but I kinda want to know by how much.
Url is current setup if it has relevancy to determining anything

For MNK:
Walahra Turban(5% Haste) + Sasuke Tekko(Acc+13) or Bandomusha Kote(Att+22)
vs
Brisk Mask(Att+6 Acc+6 Haste+4% STP+4) + Aurore Gloves(STR+4 Haste+2%)
Assuming other regular gear for haste, BB etc.
That's
1% haste, 1 fStr, 8 att -vs- 7 acc
or
1% haste, 1 fStr, 6 acc -vs- 14 att
Assuming you're not capping on any given stat, the haste/fstr/att beats the acc, and the haste/fstr/acc beats the att. Therefore brisk/aurore should generally be the best of the options.
Thanks for the reply, Motenten.
I assume we could also then use:
Ocelot Gloves(DEX+4 Haste+3%) + Usukane Sune-Ate(Acc+7 Att+7 STP+7 Haste+2%)
to maintain 26% Haste.
Figuring the DEX+4 Acc+7 Att+7 (and 11 STP in head+feet) beat the fSTR+1 by quite a bit?
For Teal Slops v Morrigan's for BLM nuking... this is not a decent test but some time up in sky on dark/light day against groundskeepers I'm finding Teal consistently outdamaging on Tier IV, about the same on Tier III and doing better on AM2. The difference is 5-10 points per nuke.
Teal Chapeau
Teal Saio
Morrigan's Cuffs
P Rope
Gleeman's Cape
Yigit Feet
Tamas/Snow
Moldy/Phantom
Phantom Tathlum
Aesir/Ugg necks (tested with both)
HQ staves and Bugard Strap +1
Well, that's not quite correct. Presumably you'd use Usu feet regardless, so all you're really comparing is Aurore vs Ocelot. Aurore gives you 20/1024 haste and Ocelot gives you 24/1024 haste (given black belt/brisk mask/byakko's/usu feet). So then you've got 2 acc and 4/1024 haste (plus maybe a % crit increase) vs 1 fstr and 2 att.Originally Posted by Raithen
1 fStr beats 2 acc by about .5%. 2 att is about .4%. The haste is about .9% gain in a highly buffed situation. Of course the str and att affect melee only, while the haste also affects weaponskills, so it ends up being a smidge in favor of the Ocelot Gloves, especially if you can break a crit tier.
BLM idle gear during daytime(on a mule so no concern of melee ASA legs):
Tatsu(8% movement 3% haste) + Serpentes Sabots(Auto refresh)
vs
Tatsu(4% PDT 3% haste) + Herald's Gaiters(12% movement)
As far as augments are concerned, char is RDM BLM BRD SMN and has blood cuisses.
Well if this is a mule I'm assuming you would be DBing it with either another mage (same idle issue), but maybe it's a melee or you're single boxing.
If you are indeed using two mages, what would be the rule that you're using for the main? If you're hitting a movement speed macro on that I believe you can bind that command via the DBing plugin so that it would activate a macro on your mule (like a movement speed gear swap for both of them).
If you're using a melee on the first character you might be able to add a check for whether or not the main is engaged that will then send commands to the BLM on which idle set to use. I know you can mix windower macros with window plugins (ie gear swaps that activate/deactivate blinkmenot), but I'm unsure if spellcast has the same compatibility.
In either of those situations you can use your current movement speed gear and use the PDT/haste Tatsus.
It truly entertains me to make a post like this after Thorny's signature. His is a completely accurate statement to make here (one which I agree with), but considering my equipment, the coincidence is wonderful.
Since we're on the subject of MNK equipment, and you're answering questions so eloquently, I'd like to ask some of my own. Like many others, I've been enjoying Abyssea, and am looking forward to upgrading my so-so MNK equipment with some of its offerings (along with those from Walk of Echoes).
This is my present MNK setup:

I constantly keep track of my performance with KParser, and evaluate gear sets with FFXICalculator. In many situations, my ACC is, as expected, not capped (but it's usually 90%+). Ordinarily, this includes my food of choice, which is Marinara Pizza. I'm quite obsessed with squeezing as much performance out of my mediocre gear set as possible, which includes as many gear swaps as I can logically use, and so on.
Now, these are the replacements I'm considering (including some items that haven't been found yet):
Head: Turban to Brisk Mask (Maestra Mask for Asuran Fists)
Neck: Spectacles to Ziel Charm
Hands: Noritsune to Aurore Gloves
Back: Forager's to Sharpeye Mantle
Legs: Tassets to Aurore Brais
Do these changes appear sound to you?
Also, H2H upgrades were covered earlier. I only login a few times a month, so completing a more challenging Magian weapon (e.g., Ursine Claws w/OAT) is not something I will be able to do anytime soon. Therefore, in terms of a weapon I can unlock by myself/with a small handful of people (and understanding that more difficult Magian trials yield much superior pieces), would the Taipan Fangs with DEX+6 ACC+12 be the least terrible option?
Kohan several things:
First upgrade your weapon. Likely the fire path is the easiest route for you, though you could attempt to get those MMM gnole knuckles or Afflictors from the Abyssea fairy NM (pretty sure those are your only two non-trial options). OA2-3 times are basically the best H2H trial option at the moment and would require a slightly tweaked build for footwork.
I don't think Brisk Mask and Ziel Charm have been identified drops so it is silly to mention them (especially when you have plenty of known gear to get first). Your time would be better spent aiming for Byakko's Haidate, PCC or Faith Torque, Rajas** (or Lava's/Kusha's) ring, and a better ammo.
**Not sure if you opted for a different ring, but CoP is easier than ever to complete so no excuse not to have one of them now.
A realistic improvement for you would be:
fire path claws / thew bomblet (~1.8M) or astrolobe (easier)
Turban/PCC (cheap now) or Faith/Brutal/Hollow
Mirke/Aurore/Lava/Kusha or Rajas/Ulth|Acc(FD)/Flame(FU)
Foragers/BB/Aurore or Haidate/Usu
Remember that while the new content might have scaled in difficulty, all the previous content got easier. The difference between 75 and 80 is 5 levels of 5 skill (22~23 acc) coupled with 5 levels of level correction, essentially giving you 42~43 more accuracy than you previously had for the same events, so you you're basically full timing your previous Focus Up set (with a new Focus Up set with even less accuracy).
As I mentioned to you, Morri legs and teal slops are going to be very close in damage varying mobs int etc, which atleast should come out to about 1-4 damage difference. However gear plays a big role on the outcome of your performance vs pieces you chose between to the point that it could widen the gap of damage between pieces depending on which spectrum your gear lies on.
Higher end gear should make both pants near identical damage. However you are missing a few pieces like Novio/sorc ring/int neck to name a few which is what widen the gap to 5-10 damage difference. As now that I know what gear pieces you are nuking in, im also averaging around 7 or so damage difference between legs.
Either way, teal slops are a good investment for any blm for the time being..
For Y/G/K, would it be better to equip Cuchulain's Mantle for the extra strength and accuracy it would have over, say Cerberus or Foragers mantle? Or would the extra attack win out in this one.
Smilodon +1 for most monsters (at least for Gekko), Forager's for ones with very high defense.
