Highwind, the level cap increase changed a lot of things.

Basically anytime you're doing old content you can drop ~43 accuracy. Even in the past when you were going for 407~430 you can decrease the total required by 20 (level correction) and then add in the 25 skill you got from leveling. You gain significantly more options for Einherjar, Limbus, Dynamis, etc where you can drop cuch/AF2 for foragers, a sniper's ring for a flame ring, a PCC for a chiv chain, astrolobe for thew bomblet, or whatever the best atk/str options you have in place of acc.

For the new content it really is easiest to parse yourself to gauge the mob. AFAIK people haven't found optimal accuracy builds for the new mobs. A good starting point is your builds you were using at 75 (407~340) and then adjust accordingly.

"I use http://www.ffxiah.com/item-sets/147536 for it, swapping Uggy for Light Gorget if I'm /whm and can't afford to dump my mp.

There are improvements you can make (Bersail Cap, mab waist and back from WoE, 6agi rings, Skadi Hands, Lithe Boots) which will bump up your dmg, but I've never gotten enough usage out of Leaden Salute to make it worth putting them at the top of my list. Just getting lucky in Abyssea/WoE will fill out many of those slots though. "

Macc doesn't affect Leaden Salute as far as I'm aware, it's a straight Agi vs enemy Int calculation, so drop the grip, rings, back, and gloves for Agi. Eyeballing, bullet/gun dmg doesn't affect it either, so you can use a low delay gun and cheapo bullets with it as well if you want to spam it.

Came to ask the exact thing, except I'm using O.Bow instead of gun.

DMG+ or atk + or DA+ Magian Gaxe? Won't have the means to easily get the OAT DMG one if that beats all of these, just curious which of these (or something else if it applies) would be best to upgrade.

I would also check out the new lv80 store TP g.axe (it is +6 STP and 97dmg i believe). Because subbing sam (which you should be doing anyway usually) all you would need is rajas + brutal for a 6-hit. I also just realized I probably made your question even more difficult by adding another option. lol sorry!

Bleh sorry I must've glossed over your response from the Random Q thread. So the MAB back and waist were found in WoE? Which chambers? Also, yea that was for when I /mage and do QDs onry instead of shooting and such. And I'd be doing Leaden Salute against mobs which are squisher vs magic hits, and where I'd do more damage with Slug/Deto.

The order for post-75 great axes is something like this for high base DA (like 22% DA), all else being equal, 6-hit unless otherwise stated. (I know attaining 6-hit for the 482-delay great axes may necessitate use of things you wouldn't use for the other great axes. This is just a rough guideline.) Believe me or not.

    Ukonvasara > fire Atlas > Vermeil Bhuj > Kunlun DA +5% > 7-hit Ukonvasara > 7-hit fire Atlas > Sumeru > Kunlun OAT

How do you figure this? OAT of other weapons are some of the best weapons. What exactly would make G.Axe suck?

It doesn't "suck" it just isn't the best. A combination of war having 15% double attack to start with and SE assigning stats to things randomly makes it not as good as other OAT weapons. Consider a drk using the OAT scythe, you go from 1.05 attacks per round average to 1.43 average which is a 36% increase. For a war using the gaxe you are going from 1.2 to 1.52 which is less than 27%.

Based on my own thoughts and no information at all I'm thinking Rapid shot (Hunter's) for my gun since the shot delay is so long, and snapshot for you because the shot fires so fast so there's less time to save on an instant shot? That's just my thought process, no proof though.

My linkshell buddy was reading on Alla that someone did the math or whatever with the 2 pieces, and found out that the Aurore is better. Something to do with Snapshot being an actual value and Rapid Shot being a random proc (correct me if I'm wrong). I haven't been over to Alla to check if the dude's math is good, so I'm sure the validity of his post.

Ya that's absolutely true, rapid shot is a % chance of /ra taking no time to fire thus allowing next shot faster. Snapshot is basically haste for RNG allowing next shot to be fired with less of a cool down period. I just didn't know if it mattered based on weapon and delay. The only part of snap shot that bugs the hell out of me is "human error." If you stumble across the hyperlink paste it for me, I'm curious what weapon(s) it was tested on.

It doesn't have math, my mistake, just a bit of discussion on Snapshot VS Rapid Shot and starting your shot off with Snapshot and ending in Rapid Shot. You'd have to blink every shot for best results, but fuck that.

My friend said it pretty good to me earlier saying that he'd rather count on a static value than a random one, like you said though, you need to account for human error.

I just assume that rapid shot has a more positive impact on higher delay weapons. I'd say snapshot no doubt for xbow considering how fast it fires.

If I read VZX's post on Alla correctly (as he was the original one or one of the original people to prove out these and other results on how ranged attack is structured from a delay standpoint), rapid shot is the random chance that the variable portion of the ranged attack will take from 1/16th to 8/16ths less time. (I didn't go back to reread the post, so I apologize if this is wrong.) Thus, the fixed portion is unaffected and the variable portion will never be reduced by more than 50%. (It can be much less than 50%.)

The wiki post on ranged delay (where Vzx contributed and is likely more mature in data) describes rapid shot as only affecting the aiming portion of the ranged attack process and suggests it will always reduce the time to zero. {This differs I think from the earlier Alla post, so I'm not certain if it was updated from the earlier studies, if I misread it, or what.} In short, it's somewhere between a small portion of the aiming phase to 100% of the aiming phase. However, the remaining portions of the ranged attack (drawing and returning the weapon) are unaffected by rapid shot.

Snapshot is not exactly like haste and the difference is quite significant. Haste affects the entirety of the melee attack round, while snapshot only affects the variable portion.

While increasing the snapshot rate reduces the variable portion in increasing rates (like haste), by not affecting the fixed portion, the overall attack rate improves in a more linear fashion, at least it appears to act in a nearly linear manner to me.

    ^ Thank you!

(from that I do my best to deduce your argument is snapshot>rapid shot)

Can confirm this. I did my own testing a while back which was inspired by VZX's testing. While some of our ideas were different, the meat of it was all the same.

Rapid Shot works like conserve MP in that a discrete but varying portion of your ranged delay is reduced, which makes testing on RNG main very annoying -_-.

Snapshot does not reduce the delay during certain phases of your ranged attack, which makes it less effective, but still useful.
