I would have to say your opinion on that is quite inaccurate.

/sam has a slight tp increase over /nin or /war, and less damage than /war. If you're going for survivability you would /nin, while /war has much more of an added damage output for a slightly decreased tp gain. I cannot see 60 free tp every 3mins being justifiable when DNC should be easily out-tping it's cure timers anyways.
in general, slug shot WS on RNG, libeccio mantle or amemet +1
WTF is all this? First of all, the only thing full aurore is good for is a "don't invite me" sign. Second, yes you can default to /sam and switch to something different as appropriate. A dnc is spending nearly half their time doing nothing because of JA delay, you need a lot of tp gain. 15 store tp beats 10 double attack, especially when offhanding a multihit dagger. If you have too much tp, your DDs are in no risk of dying when you WS, and you can safely berserk without getting owned if you pull hate, then you can go /war.
Prisim cape vs Hecate's Cape.
Carry both or one wins vs the other?
I have Usubody, but no Usufeet; 5-hit Keitonotachi isn't practicable without haste and WS sacrifices, making the answer less clear.
So, what's better?
Keitonotachi five-hit with Hachiman Kote+1 (TP/WS)
Keitonotachi six-hit with Sword Strap, letting me use Hauby+1 and full STR in WS (TP/WS),
Hyogu STR/ATT six-hit with Usubody (TP/WS),
Or just stick with Hagun six-hit (TP/WS) until Bhaf 2NM stops being a little bitch?
Spoiler: show
Not that I'm agreeing or disagreeing, but this response both ignored what he actually said and contradicted itself in the same paragraph. First you tried to refute his point about TP-overload with additional Store TP traits, then you mentioned Sekkanoki as a benefit while simultaneously declaring that anything used to improve a dancer's damage is a complete irrelevancy.
tl;dr- wat?
Could you elaborate on this? If anything, wouldn't it be the opposite? I'd imagine going from 90% to 95% accuracy on Slugwinder would do much more than 5 r.attack and 2 STR in situations where accuracy isn't capped for the WS. A lot of ranger actually macro in r.acc for Slugwinder when fighting stuff that matters endgame, not macro it out. The problem then comes in figuring out which tradeoffs are worth the switch.
Of course, in situations where you don't fully benefit from the accuracy Amemet+1 is clearly better. Just trying to say if there's a situation in which Libeccio would be useful (can benefit from the 10 R.acc vs 5 R.ark/2STR tradeoff), it would come into play during Slugwinder first before it would come into play for normal shots.
Eh, I see what you mine, was not my most clear of posts (6am, lack of sleep, I'm an idiot, blame it on whatever you want). Got TP overload? Drop a WS and you can get TP back quicker as /sam than other subs. Need extra TP because shit hit the fan? /sam is best for that. And I don't think I described dnc's damage as irrelevant, but incidental or secondary to their primary role. /sam provides better support cover, and also DD options, than /war, especially when you consider that most dancers will already be using a multi-hit weapon so /war's double attack trait is less effective than it may first seem.
Hopefully that makes more sense.
OAT Kurodachi vs. 5-hit Keitonotachi?
DA merits vs Aggressor merits, assuming OAT Great Axe. Given that increasing DA gives diminishing returns, and with ~40% DA from OAT, does the benefit of DA merits get diminished to such an extent that Aggressor merits (and associated gear swaps to increase Attack/STR during Aggressor up) would be a greater benefit instead? Currently 5 Berserk, 5 DA. Can someone check the analysis below?
Current Aggressor Down TP Set
OAT/Sword/-/Bomblet
Turban/PCC/Hollow/Brutal
EBody/Dusk/Blitz/Rajas
Cuch/Swift/Byakko's/Dusk+1
Current Aggressor Up TP Set
OAT/Sword/-/BombCore
Turban/Kubira/Aesir/Brutal
EBody/Dusk/Blitz/Rajas
Forager's/Swift/Byakko's/Dusk+1
During Aggressor, gain of 28Atk, 1Acc, 3STR, -2DEX.
Assuming OAT and DA have a multiplicative relationship without Triple Attacks,
With 5DA merits: average 16.8Atk, 0.6Acc, 1.8STR, -1.2DEX and 52% DA
With 5Agg merits: average 21.4Atk, 0.7Acc, 2.3STR, -1.6DEX and 49% DA
4.6Atk, 0.1Acc, 0.5STR, -0.4DEX vs 3% DA.
Guessing 3% DA still wins, implying that 5DA merits still the way to go. Anything wrong with this analysis? Other comments welcome too.
PS. SE please make further trials that make getting OATLuchtaine/Kunlun worthwhile QQ
5 Berserk, 5 DA is the way to stay. You also have too much Acc in your current TP set for most events these days.
So it keeps being asked here "What's the best Magians Great katana" to do.
Other than the high base damage OAT, I was looking at the difference between the:
91 Base damage Radennotachi (91 base damage, 450 delay)
and the stp version:
91 Base damage Keitonotachi (91 base damage, 464 delay, 5 stp).
I keep seeing people here say "5 hit Keito wins", however when going through the math:
With 23% haste in gear, Hasso, double marches, and haste samba, time to TP for each is:
114.2402 delay (or 1.9 seconds per swing) for the Radennotachi (using sword strap and the above buffs).
121.4375 delay (or 2.0 seconds per swing) for Keitonotachi, and that's with sacrificing sub/ammo spot during TP phase for rose strap + white tathum (if you dont have Goadling belt), and several sacrifices during WS.
Additionally, Radennotachi will be getting in 1 more hit per TP phase.
So Radennotachi (with sword strap) does more DoT, WSs faster, and WSs harder (due to not having to sacrifice key spots for WS damage).
I dont really see a reason to do the stp version..
