How do you set a program to run as administrator with Vista?

Just as title asks. I downloaded Direct Parse and the Microsoft Framework it suggested. I changed the memloc to 514514. I went to properties and selected the "run in windows XP compatibility mode", but it wouldnt let me check the "run as administrator" part.. And I believe due to this my Direct Parse still doesnt work.

    Any suggestions?

You can right click on it and tell it to Run as Admin each time.

    Or just disable UAC.

Do you know why the tic box is blocked? I have several apps (for instance the WCV highres ones) that run in compatibility mode with admin without issue. Granted, that is on Win7 though.

Right click on the shortcut > Properties > Advanced > check the box "Always run as administrator > OK > Apply > OK

In the other thread, I didn't realize you were referring to DirectParse even though you specified it. Instead of fighting with it, why not try KParser?

You might try this--it's a guide for forcing it to run as administrator/in compatibility mode via the registry.
